The day was perfect. Well, the weekend was perfect. We had events Thurs-Sat and each day was gorgeous. It started to rain on Sunday and poured for a week after. We couldn't have been luckier!
Regarding the tie and glasses, DH is going to really break the mold at the Spanish wedding. No traditional tie? No vest? Might as well not get married, according to some local minds! (I'm getting really sick of the gossips/critics.) DH saw my father in a bow tie once and I guess it stuck in his mind. When it was time to buy his suit, he insisted upon buying one to wear as well. I tried to get him to wear a fun one but he wanted red. I have to admit, it did fit nicely with his glasses
I like the mixing of cultures. That's what we tried to do as well. Did the guests comment on how Spanish/ American the wedding was in their eyes?
Did your friends end up getting there after wanting a ride from you last min?
When is the Spanish wedding? I will need pictures of that one as well. What are you doing differently?
Bio
I didn't hear much. We had a lot of fun at the reception, mixing American with Canadian with Spanish. We played some Atlantic Canadian songs for my uni friends. We played one of the stereotypical Spanish wedding reception songs (Look up "Paquito Chocolatero.")
Yup.
Mid-October. We're doing a proper Spanish Catholic wedding with the accompanying 3+ hour long meal and party. If anything, it'll be more formal.
