First...I'm back! The cruise was magnificent, and if any of you are living in Barcelona, I'm super jealous! I'm ready to pack my bags and move there, ASAP.
Now, for the disappointment. We went on a cruise, and prior to that I was in the UK for work for 3 days. I am now 10 pounds heavier. I swore I'd never let myself see 170 again...yep, 171 on the scale this morning! Ugh...I'm just so frustrated and disappointed in myself...I feel like this whole weight loss "journey" will never end.

Re: Disappointed in myself.
Yay for great holidays! What other ports did you visit?
The weight gain is probably from all the great food you get on the cruise! Proves that you had a fabulous holiday.
Now that you're back to reality, just go back to your pre-vacation routines, diet, workout etc... Good luck and stay motivated!
I'm jealous of your cruise! I love cruising.
Give me details... we're looking at some kind of cruise next summer since our families want to vacation with us and Europe is in the middle.
Don't sweat the weight gain. Nothing you can do about it now. Just start back eating better and working out. We went on vacation for 3 weeks and it took all of 6 days for me to be back in my fat jeans. (Thank goodness I packed them!) Now I'm back and have been working out and eating well for a week and I already feel better and seeing improvement. Since you were active before your vacation, it probably won't take long for your body to jumpstart itself once you get back into your fitness routine. Good luck!
I want to hear more about this cruise.
About the weight gain, I agree with Azure. You just need to get back into your pre-holiday routine. Don't beat yourself up about it.
Yup, ditto everyone else. I understand what you mean, after Italy and Switzerland (pasta and chocolate - I was screwed from the start) I came back a bit heavier and it sucks to feel like you have to start again. I know it can be hard to get back into the habit after a fun break, too. Just remember that you can do this because you already have done it. Everyone needs a break now and then; you had one, and now you can get back on schedule. You have months to be get yourself under 170 and below before the holidays are back and you can take a well deserved break for a week or two.
Don't be too hard on yourself. You can't be in weight loss mode all the time. It'd be a really crappy life.
Sounds like an awesome cruise! I still haven't been to Spain, it is pretty high on my to-visit list.
Don't worry about the weight. I bet at least a few pounds will disappear in the next few days as you get back into your normal routine. Even if they don't, try to keep in mind that weight loss, and maintenance, is an ongoing process. The important thing is that you took note about a few pounds creeping back on and that you are going to get back on track right away. You'll be back down again before you know it.

I've always wanted to go to Barcelona! Where else did you go? I've never been on a cruise but it sounds amazing.
Weight management is a lifetime thing and small changes here and there just happen. I bet some of it will disappear easily now that you're eating your normal food (I know that food on holiday can have tons of salt) but don't stress about it too much - just take a deep breath and get back into a routine. I'm sure there are a couple lessons you can take from this but honestly, life is to be enjoyed and a number is just a number, y'know?

Mmmm, cruise. Love. Glad you had a fabulous time.
Don't worry about the weight gain. It's almost not fair because the food is prepared for maximum taste but minimum health regard. Is nowhere near as healthy as the food you would cook for youself. Just get back to your routine and doing what is right for you and your health.
