hello & question?

Hi all!

I've been lurking on the board for a couple months since I moved to the area with my husband, but my crazy hours at work have kept me from participating - but you all seem great and I hope I'll be able to get involved a little as work calms down.

My question: I need to find a new ob/gyn, as my old one is several hundred miles away in Maryland. I live in West Bloomfield, so someone in that area would be preferable, but don't have a preference between male or female, as long as they are good. We aren't planning on having kids for a couple more years, but I'd rather find a doctor who I can go to for a number of years. Also, I have Cigna health insurance, but am switching to BCBS in January, so an office that accepts that would be great. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

  • Yeah, mine is in Shelby/Utica, which is too far for you also.  But welcome!

  • I see Dr. Pezeshki at Metro Partners in Women's Health (at Providence Medical Center in Novi).  I've also seen Dr. Hakim there and liked him as well.
  • Sorry I don't have a rec either (in fact, I am also "in the market" for an ObGyn), but welcome to the board!
  • Hi & welcome!

I go to Metro Ob/gyn (not to be confused with the Metro Partners, above).  I go to the Livonia office, but they also have an office in Commerce - not sure how far it might be from you.  I've seen everyone at the practice at this point (there are 6 doctors plus a P.A.) and everyone is very nice/competent.  I would have no problem if any of them were the one on-call when I go into labor.  They don't have any midwives at the practice, though.

  • I go to Women First OBGYN - they are in Royal Oak, I don't know if that's too far for you.
