WE ARE JAGUARS!

Great game! Anyone else watch? Was anyone else there? It was a scorcher! I'm burned a little, but H is a freaking lobster.

I couldn't have asked for a better start to the season. They were uncomfortably close to blowing the lead at the end, but I'm thankful they were able to hang on to the lead for the entire game. We really were in command of the game basically from start to finish which is just what you can home for in an opener. Great way to start the season!  :)

Thoughts on McCown? Offensive line?

Defense held Chris Johnson to 24 yards I just read, so WINNING as far as I'm concerned and doesn't need to be addressed. lol

Re: WE ARE JAGUARS!

  • *crickets*This thread is pretty indicative of the team's presence in Jacksonville too. lol
  • As you know, I'm not a true Jags fan but I did watch the game with DH. As long as they're not playing my boys I'm rooting for them. It was a pretty good start to the season. I know DH was very frustrated with the offense since they outplayed the Titans most of the game but couldn't seem to turn that into points. McCown looked good IMO. He didn't seem uncomfortable and I was impressed with his faith in his receivers. The team did seem to have a new energy too so hopefully this QB change means good things.

  • I watch the Red Zone channel on Sundays, so I saw pieces of the game. Very impressive, Jags! I think McCown did great, though expectations were probably low... but starting out the season with a win is great.

  • I was obviously happy with the end result. I really thought we were gonna give it away there at the end, but that's why they're the Cardiac Cats. I was pretty happy with McKown. He seemed less scared than Garrard to let go of the ball.

  • That's a good point, Sikes. He's really young, and maybe some of that "I'm so new that I don't realize some things aren't done in the NFL" derring do will rub off on the rest of the team and energize the fans. I'm willing to see what he's got to give, and clearly this was the best possible start to the season. Not too easy of a win, but not a loss.
  • DH went to the game, but I went to the mall to meet up with a friend and her kids and we rode the kiddie train.  I did see a few plays of the game when we stopped in Football Fanatics.  I also caught the end of the game on Sirius and saw the last play on TV once I got to my aunt's house.  Hopefully when the weather cools down and I am feeling a little better I will make it to some games.  We'd like DD to attend her first game this season :)

  • DH went to the game and I watched it on t.v. It was a pretty exciting first half. The defense is looking pretty good, with the exception of the person who didn't make the tackle and he ran in for a touchtown and R.Mathis and his two back to back penalties. The QB is okay. I love that they were throwing the ball. They need to have MJD in there more, but the other RB was pretty good. I am ready for this season!!
