Good morning!

How was everyone's weekend?  Ours ended up being a LOT easier than we anticipated.

Derek and my brother started work at my mom's house on Saturday to open up the wall between their kitchen and TV/family room.  As soon as they had the drywall down the saw that it would be a MUCH easier job that they originally thought.  As it is a load bearing wall they were going to have to add some pretty beefy headers and studs, while making a temporary reinforcing wall so the 2nd story didn't fall.  Well, all the structure was already there.  It looked like they'd planned for this sort of thing when the house was built!  The opening was a bit smaller than my parents had wanted, but hey, it was 1000x easier to do!

Blockbuster also just announced that their closing all of their stores here, so we went on our way home on Saturday and might have spent $200 on movies and games.

Yesterday I baked a pie.  I haven't done a pie in a while and it could use some work.  I overworked the crust and underworked the crumb topping.  Oh well, just an excuse to try again!!

Re: Good morning!

  • Hello ladies.  We had a pretty good weekend.  On Saturday, I finally use my UK license and we rented a car to head to the driving range.  I haven't golfed in a few years, so that was pretty sad, but it did feel good to get out.  I also had an acupuncture session that afternoon, and she's also recommended some new herbs to try.  We'll see if there's any positive results!

On Sunday, we met up with a bunch of other local Nesties for a picnic in the park.  Great to catch up with that crew again and enjoy some time outdoors.  The wind got a little crazy, but at least the rain stayed away.

I have an appt tonight with my OBGYN for some further testing.  I think he's planning on doing an ultrasound, so I'm just hoping that everything looks normal.

I'm trying to buckle down at work now as my recent procrastination is now coming back to bite me!

  • Morning ladies.

    I had a great weekend.

Friday, I went out with some friends, while (for a change) DH stayed home with the boys. We went to a great Japenese rest., and I chowed, but had plenty of leftovers to feed both DH and for lunch the next day.

Saturday we had a wedding.  Considering how unorganized it was, it was pretty nice, and we did have a blast.  The weather was perfect, and the view from Fort Williams is always beaufiful.  I only wish she chose the site overlooking the water.

Yesterday we picked the boys up around noon, and ended up staying for lunch with my dad, stepmom, and gram. I am thankful I got to spend time with them, but its sad since my gram really doesn't remember much these days, and I had to remind her of the boys names often.

Zach has is flup from last year at the cardiologist this afternoon, and I am praying that the opening in his heart is closed, and this will be the final visit with them.

    Have a great day ladies.

  • My weekend was pretty lazy. Did lot of lazing about, watching movies, and reading. Went out for a really nice walk on Saturday, it was really lovely and refreshing. Went to a BBQ that night and enjoyed some socializing.

Yesterday we went to the ILs for dinner. I don't know if any of you heard the story about a little three year old who was abducted just a few days back, Kienen, well he was returned early yesterday morning, unharmed! He lived an hour or so away from my old place. We celebrated his safe return back home to his parents with a lovely feast! Chicken, Stuffing, Mashed potatoes, Steamed veggies! It was fantastic. Then, we watched a documentary on 9/11.

Sadly, Sunday ended with me feeling gross and puking. I still feel like puking, it is pretty bad. I think I got a flu.

  • Pretty low-key weekend.  Got to spend a few hours with H when he was in town (for a bachelor party, not to see me - but I'll take what I can get!)  Did a lot of cleaning and speed reading to finish this month's book club pick by last night.

Oh, and watched the MOST EPIC COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME EVER.  Michigan had an amazing win over Notre Dame on Saturday night.  It seemed like most of my friends were at the game...I wish I could have been there too, but it was still fun to watch at home.  GO BLUE!

Last night we had book club on my roofdeck and it was a lot of fun.  Raynes, I made those margarita cupcakes, they were a big hit!

Sushi, good luck with the appointment today.  I hope everything is just fine.

  • My weekend was really busy.  We had an out of town wedding so it was pretty tiring with all the driving around.  The driving made me feel pretty carsick so I went to bed pretty early.

This morning I woke up at 445am to get a run in before my 7am shift. Since we were gone all weekend I had to take those days off and it's supposed to be hot after work so I would rather run in the morning.  Just having a quick break at work.

Good!  I sort of just want to make some of that buttercream and just eat it.

  • Good morning!  Saturday, Jim and I went to the firing range.  Shockingly, it was a lot of fun.  Yesterday we went to a Slavic American festival, visited some friends and had dinner at SIL's.  All in all, it was a pretty relaxing weekend.

I finally finished the pink scarf I was working on, so I think I'll start a baby sweater tonight to go with the hat and booties I made for my friend.

We have one more appointment with the RE Wednesday to see what's going on and that's about it for this week.  I'm hoping it goes by quickly.  We are taking a bus up to Atlantic City Saturday and I really looking forward to it.

Umm, I might have saved all the extra frosting in a tupperware.  And I probably will be eating the rest of it spoonful for the rest of the week.

  • Good morning!

This weekend was pretty low key for us. Friday we did laundry and later met up with one of my old co-workers from TxDOT. I needed some input on my bridge design so he was able to give me some pointers.

Saturday we went to watch the movie "Contagion," and I highly recommend it. DH and I love it. It's one of those movies that keep you wondering if we are prepared for and event like that.

Sunday we just lounged around and did some homework.

  • Good morning, ladies! Today is my fake Friday, so I'm in a great mood. We leave for vacation after work tonight.

This weekend was great. It was quiet and relaxing and I managed to get a lot done. Saturday we had the market in the morning. The weather was gorgeous so it was awesome to sit outside all morning long. Then we went home and watched some college football. We grilled out and had some friends over for dinner Saturday evening.

Yesterday I spent most of my day doing laundry, cleaning the house, watching football, and packing. The house looks pretty decent right now, so I'm hoping that it won't be terrible when we get home.

    I totally did that too.

I saw Contagion too! I really liked it.

Saturday was gorgeous here so I dropped the top on my Mini and went driving in the mountains. It was so much fun. Then DH cooked an amazing dinner for some friends and I.

Sunday. After I made this awesome breakfast casserole it went down hill. I got ready and went out for a run was a 1/4 mile from the house and had to get out of the way of a cab and twisted my ankle in an open electrical box and cut my knee. Limped home and cleaned myself up. So I hobbled myself to our condo's conference room and studied for 6.6 hours. Lucky for me though Dh bought me a wrap for my ankle which has really helped. Alas by the time I got home he felt like he was getting a cold and looked it. He's currently curled in miserable heap sleeping. I hope I don't catch it.

  • Morning Ladies.

Pretty low key weekend for me. Friday night DH and I went out to dinner. Saturday, we got some things done around the house and then met up with some friends for dinner and games. We ended up staying there until 3am which was a mistake. I was sore and beat!

Sunday, we worked a little around the house. I tried to take it easy in between.

Have a great day and week!

  • Good morning, ladies.

Busy weekend - I'm not sure where it went!  Big hike Saturday, then some college football.  Lots of cleaning yesterday, and preparation for having people over tonight for MNF.  What we didn't realize is that because it's a double header, the Bronco game starts at 8:15 mountain time - we thought it was 8:15 eastern time.  Oops.  I hope no one wants to stay for the entire game, as I probably can't stay up until 11:30 for that.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  • Good morning. I had a awesome weekend! We spent the entire weekend at Lake McConaughy in Nebraska. The weather was absolutely perfect and the water was still really warm. It was a perfect relaxing way to end the summer.

Tonight we're having some friends over for the Broncos game. I was a little surprised by the 8:15 kickoff as well and hope a lot of people head out early so I can get to bed at a decent time.

    Have a great day ladies!

  • Morning everyone.  I had a pretty good weekend.  Friday night B and I headed to Costco, and then had picnic dinner and started watching Game of Thrones.  I'm definitely hooked.  Saturday I got up early and met SIL for a purse warehouse sale.  I got a super cute new messenger bag and a clutch.  I ran a few errands on my way home, and then a friend stopped by for lunch and some hanging out.  B and I then went up to my mom's and grandpa's for a bit.  At the last minute, a friend decided to have a party, so we rushed home, had a quick dinner, and then off we went to a friend's place.  We ended up not getting there until about 10:00, which resulted in us being out super late.  Sunday, I worked most of the day and did some stuff around the house.

Today is going to be a busy one, but a friend is in town for a job interview, so we're going to grab lunch.  I'm looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a good day.  And good luck Sushi and Reba on your appts this week. I'm thinking of you.

  • Good morning! We've had a heat wave for the past week and our house has been ridiculously hot.

Due to the heat - I haven't been sleeping well. Well with the addition of a fan and a light blanket and some wine - I was out last night and had the toughest time getting out of bed this morning.

It's going to be a long Monday - we've got tickets to tonight's Mariners game.
