It makes me sad... I spent so much time there and met so many great people. I checked it out on a whim today and it has essentially become a list of for sale items.

I know...back when I was active (2008) there were so many posts there every day....I have to say I never really went back after I got married though. its too bad for the brides now, I got some really great info from my bmore knotties.

I think The Wedding Wire is the new hot spot. When I was planning my wedding for 2007, that site was dead. Looks like it's the exact opposite now.

Since we were on at the same time, I completely agree with you. Not only did I get some great recs and some awesome vendors from those recs, I met a lot of you ladies and made some great friends!

It was dead even last year when I was planning my wedding. I used to check in there but spent most of my time on the Philadelphia and DE boards. Unfortunately, the Philly board is dying now as well because someone has gone crazy and taken it under attack. They're deleting posts and harassing people. Kind of sad.

So funny you wrote this today. I peeked over there this morning for the first time in ages and couldn't believe how dead it was. We had such a blast over there back in the day. Such a shame to see what's come of it lately.

Yes Me too! Unfortunately by the time I found the boards I had already booked my vendors, but some of the girls I met via TK I am close friends with 3+ years later!

That is sad- I found at least 3 of my local vendors via the Baltimore board, plus invites and my dress alteration from other boards. I had heard that in terms of vendor reccs Wedding Wire was the new thing. My florist asked me to go on there and do a recc for her at least 3 years ago.

Most of the ladies I posted w/ on the knot don't post much here anymore. I feel like Kathryn and I are the only ones from our "class."

I was on a lot when I first got engaged (December 2006) and quickly booked my vendors (from Knottie recommendations) for my October 2008 wedding. Then I disappeared for several months and came back to post as the wedding approached, but never really became a regular. By the time I got married I wanted to never speak of anything wedding related and bailed to this site.

I wonder if the new format plays a part - were you ladies over there with the new one? I used to stop back occasionally (less and less as my wedding became more in the past, so to speak) but the new format drove.me.nuts and now I can't stand it at all.

That is sad. I found almost all of my vendors on the knot. I wasn't the most active poster but I did try to go to gtgs. I haven't seen the new format but if that's the problem maybe the knottie gods can fix it?

I agree with this- is it me or did it used to be a lot easier to go back to the knot?

At some point shortly after our wedding it was almost as if the knot/nest wouldn't let me onto the knot board.

Ah the good ole Baltimore Knot site. I also haven't been on that site since I got married, but enjoyed chatting with many of you ladies and found all of my vendors via recommendations.

The new format is awful. It changed after I left TK. Sometime in early 2010 or late 2009 I think. Also it's annoying to try to get back there because the site sees that I'm married and automatically kicks me to TN.

it is sad, because that's really the only way i got my vendors for my wedding...i didnt know anyone recently married in md and i was living in ak, so TK was great for that.

my "first day" lurking on TK was a day with a ton of drama, something w/ a picture of a fake ring and someone lying about being engaged or something? it was funny.

I really enjoyed TK too - I booked most of my vendors from others' recommendations. And I definitely agree with SarahKate that the new format really inhibits posting. I went there the other day and couldn't believe it was so non-user friendly!!

I took over as MOD over there and i have tried and tried to get those girls talking! After all the original girls left when i was on it just became dead. I don't know what else to do to get them talking.

Oh I also made a sticky post for all the for sale posts. I have actually been meaning to post about them not using that. (which I just did since you reminded me of it with this post) I thought it would be better then having the board "flooded" with for sale posts. That way they are all in one place and if someone is looking for something they can just go to one place and see what everyone has rather then looking through thousands of posts trying to find the for sale ones.
