I close on Thursday!

I'm really nervous! I mean, I'm excited too, but I'm freaking out a little bit, lol.

Re: I close on Thursday!

  • It's very exciting! I couldn't focus at work the week leading up to closing and the nerves were eating me alive. I wish I had some advice for you, but I don't! :)
  • Haha. Work is pretty slow this week, so I'm lucky. But I'm hardly getting any sleep! What was the first thing you did when you moved in? Painted and cleaned?
    The pups!
  • They actually had a cleaning company come in between them moving out and us moving in, and we were happy with their paint choices (they painted right before listing the house and we offered 2 weeks after they listed) in all but one room so we moved right in. There's only one room that we have painted, and it's still empty and will remain empty until we have a baby :)

But definitely, cleaning and painting first!

  • I've never been so excited to clean in my life, lol. I'm mostly happy with their paint choices, except for downstairs. They painted an accent wall forest green, with the rest of the downstairs being olive green, and it just bugs me. Hopefully they leave the paint that I saw in the laundry room!

  • You can always ask to make sure they do. Our sellers left touch up paint for most rooms. The ones that we didn't have it for, we ripped off a piece from the wall, patched it, and took it to home depot. They analyzed it and mixed a paint to match. It was dead on!
  • Lol! I don't know if I'm that talented. I don't know how to patch a wall. I just emailed my real estate agent to see if they were leaving everything. They staged the house so there's fake plants, pictures and stuff everywhere

  • Me TOO! We're closing twins! So exciting!

=] When are you doing the walk through? Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning? We have our second inspection tomorrow morning, and then on thursday morning we're going to do the walk through.

  • ummmm good question? All I heard of was meeting our REA to sign papers and then we should get our keys on Thursday. I hadn't heard of any second inspection or anything. I am not sure why one would be necessary in our particular situation. Now I'm nervous though! I"ll have to ask those questions!

Good luck with your second and your walk through! So exciting!

  • Oh, the second inspection was just to make sure that they had fixed everything that was wrong with the house. It was optional. I just don't trust the seller!

I hope everything goes well on Thursday for you!

    The pups!
  • Oh gotcha! Our house was built in 2004, the only thing the sellers are doing is having the furnace serviced so we are probably ok. Good luck to you too! Come back here after Thursday and let me know how it went!
