Anyone know of...?

... a furnished apartment in the Augusta area that would be available for rent for 12 or 13 weeks? The nurse I worked with at Camp Cody this summer is taking a traveling nurse gig up at Maine General in Augusta and will need a place that's got everything included (utilities and what-not).

She has a lead or two through a web site, but it's not a sure thing, so I thought I'd put the word out here to my Nestie ladies...

Re: Anyone know of...?

  • I know of a place in Lewiston but not Augusta.

Has she tried to connect with the hospital in Augusta- sometimes they know of things.

  • She might consider Lewiston, actually. She's bringing one of her twin sons with her-- he has strayed a little off the path of responsibility and he wants to start anew in a place far from home. So Lewiston might be good if he can find a place to get a job that is in walking distance/cheap cab ride.

She's going to be working as a traveling nurse at Maine General-- I'm not sure how they feel about helping nurses who are only here for a couple months! I'll have her check, though...

    Thanks!

  • Where we lived before we bought our house - Oak Ledge Estates on Randall road had an apartment in our building that they rented out to traveling doctors and nurses.  2 bedroom, secure building close to the turnpike really clean.  They have a website http://oakledgeestates.com/default.aspx

On the website is states they do furnished short and long term housing so  she should give them a call- They own a bunch of higher end apartments in the Lewiston area.

  • Kristy's right - one of the girls I work with rents an apartment to traveling doctors and nurses and she did it through CMMC.  The hospital might have some leads closer to Augusta if Lewiston ends up not panning out.
