When some says to you "oh, congratulations! I didn't know you were expecting!"
and you're not pregnant.

Re: You know what's awesome?
what.the.fvck.is.wrong.with.people?!
i'm sorry, that is a day-ruiner for sure. it's almost 5 in england, just sayin'
Right?!
I responded with "no, but thanks!"
and then the guy was like "omg, i'm sorry! i should learn from my mistakes!" and then proceeded to tell me how he did the same thing to his neighbor last winter.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
I had a co-worker say that to me once, while reaching out to pat my stomach.
I replied, "Nope, just wearing an incredibly unflattering dress, apparently!" She was mortified. But, that didn't stop her from doing the same thing again, a year later.
Haha! That has happened to me before.
Last week, the same coworker reached out and grabbed some loose fabric on the back of my pants, kind of between my butt and thighs as she was exclaiming over how much weight I've lost. I appreciated the sentiment, but keep your darned hands to yourself!
she clearly wasn't mortified enough!
again, WTF is wrong with people?
That is not even a little bit appropriate!!!!
OMG people are so crazy!!!!!!!!
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
I know! She is a nice lady so I didn't snap "Keep your hands to yourself!" But I was kind of bewildered. I would never grab a coworker's body!
Although once a coworker was wearing a soft, fuzzy shirt and as I complimented it, I stroked her sleeve. Then I was mortified and apologized.
Oh, that sucks!
Funny story - we went to visit DH's cousins a couple weekends ago. Well, we had no idea she was expecting. She walked in (about 6-7 mo's pregnant... it was obvious...) and I could see the look on DH's face... like "should I say something? I know I'm not supposed to!?!"
They had thought someone told us months ago. LOL.
oh hell no. granted, it is a great compliment but many other ways to express it.
I did that to someone once and I felt SO bad. But in my defense, another co-worker told me that that this person was pregnant. She was wrong! I was pregnant at the time, so when this person asked me about my pregnancy, I thought it would be nice for me to ask about hers, too. Total fail.
What a doosh.
