Fall decorations?

What do you girls put up for fall decorations?  I have one awesome fall scented candle, but that's sort of "it" for me.  I'm curious!!

Re: Fall decorations?

  • Usually a fall scented candle (Scentsy this year since I'm into that stuff right now), a glass pumpkin candy dish, a scarecrow wreathe for the front door, and when I host a dinner at our house, I have either leave placemats or a tablecloth with leave cutouts around the edges. This year I added some leave garlands for the archways, above the kitchen window and around a circular mirror in the living room, and a scarecrow family sitting on a shelf.
  • I have autumn leaf garland that I put across my mantel.  I used to have orange lights inside of them, but they burned out... but I'm looking for more.  I put up an autumn leaves wreath over the fireplace.

I have a curved staircase and I wrap the leaf garland down the banister.  I put out fall rugs by the doors and fill vases with harvest-y foliage like like cattails and wheat-looking stuff.

The coffee and end tables get small decorations like pumpkins, gourds, etc.  I change out the potpourri and stuff to be a fall scent and fall type items.

Right around the first of October, I get corn stalks from the farm store up the street and I use festive fall ribbon to wrap the corn stalks around the poles on my front porch.  I also put out pumpkins on a bale of hay.

  • I have a wreath for the front door, get some pumpkins and plant mums in our front entry. Inside, I have a fall colored table runner, picked up a decorative pumpkin at homegoods yesterday.

I really want to do those lace covered pumpkins. I'm thinking a few by our fireplace.

  • Generally I get one new thing per Holiday each year at Home Goods....so I kind of don't remember what I have until I go into the attic each year, lol.

This year I totally flaked on changing out my Spring stuff for Summer - boo!

I have a shaff of wheat that I put on the mantle and a wreath for the door - that much I remember.  I always get pumpkins and mums but the mums always seem to die b/c the front of my house gets full sun all afternoon.

Me too! I kind of want to fill our fireplace with them :) I painted some white ones with our house number last year and it was really cute.

I do a lot of the above, pumpkins, mums, fall mats, leaf wreath, table runners, Fall signs, candles, and garland. I also have some really cute glass pumpkin/acorn filler and I always fill a few hurricane glasses with those.

We should do a show and tell of fall decoration in October!

    Happiest place on Earth!

  • The same things others have mentioned- pumpkins, candles. I have a fall wreath for the door. I also have a basket of fake fall fruit ( gourds and such) that I place out as well. Its not as cheesy as it sounds ( at least to me).

This year I'm looking to add the fall theme to my dining room. Maybe a nice runner?

My fall decor won't go up until at least mid October around here though.

That's what I wanted to do to! But that but add up to a lot of $$ with lace stockings. I could probably get some lace at Joanne's instead.

  • I just have a small sign that says, Happy Fall Ya'll. It sits on a hutch in my entry hall.
  • I have scented candles, Halloween and fall colored tablecloths, Halloween and Thanksgiving towels for the kitchen and bathrooms, wreaths for the front door, mums for the front and back porches, leaf garland for the mantle, pumpkins/scarecrows/gourds for the mantle, pumpkin doormat for the front porch, flags for our garden flag holders, an Elmo (holding 3 pumpkins) blow up thingy for our front yard, and then we buy pumpkins from the pumpkin patch for the porches!
