Confessions anyone?

I just mowed only the front part of the yard and I'm exhausted. I'm even going to consider it my workout instead of actually going to the gym today. I hadn't cut it since before hurricane Irene and we have had soooo much rain since then that the yard is a swampy jungle. I plan on doing tomorrow's workout on the back yard. Call me lazy!

In my defense, however, I have one of those old school mowers that's just a barrel of blades on wheels that you have to push across the grass to make the blades spin.

Re: Confessions anyone?

  • I realized it's been a week and a half since Allan left and it feels like forever. Time seems to be moving much slower than I thought.

Also, I hope I don't eat it wearing these heels to work today. I'm usually pretty good in stilettos, I mean, I can practically run in them, but I've never worn a 5-inch heel before. Should make for an interesting day.

I do this too. I have the same lawn mower, chiefly because I can hear the baby monitor over it, but also because it's more eco-friendly. It definitely counts as my workout on the days I do it, especially in this heat.

I had a great confession last night and now I can't remember what it was. It'll come to me.

  • I have a push mower too, I am in love with it, but not in love with the fact that I have to mow twice a week. ::sigh:: I guess for my confession: I spent money on a new outfit and I feel so bad about it. I shouldn't because I need some decent clothes (no stains or holes) and last time I bought something for myself was Christmas time last year. But I am really thinking about taking my new clothes back and getting my money back. Blah.

  • I was going to wash and wax my car today, but after about 15 minutes out in the sun I resigned to just a quick wash/rinse/dry of the hood since it was so flipping hot.

H wants to look into buying a house when he gets back. I would be happy renting forever if it meant I wouldn't have to do yardwork.

  • This weekend I started looking for tickets for our trip to CA for Christmas, after seeing how much tickets were I was hoping R would change his mind.  1,800$ later we will be going to CA for Christmas....ouch

  • My sister, some friends and I are doing this 21-day health challenge. I already cheated and had Pei Wei hours after it started [we're not supposed to eat fried foods, and what I had was definitely fried]. I swear though, I'll be good the rest of the time.

H bombed this certification test he had last week, and I think he thinks I blew it off like it wasn't that big of a deal. I guess I kinda did...I mean, he didn't get all the study material he needed, so the person administering the test is letting him take it again...because I already knew he wasn't prepared for it. I still feel bad that I wasn't more sympathetic.

  • I confess that I'm not being a good military wife lately. My H was just told that instead of leaving TODAY for where he was supposed to go the next three months, he's not leaving till October which means that he'll miss the newborn stage of our baby's life. I actually wanted him to be gone today haha. Now, he'll have less time to spend with our kid before he deploys, and my parents won't get to see him like they had planned to (they really wanted to). I know it's part of the deal but sometimes it just really sucks and I've been pretty pissed off about how little I'm seeing my H lately.

I don't think that makes you a bad spouse. I think it's completely normal to be disappointed when something disrupts what you had planned. You're not depressed about it and sniping at him, or even really complaining about it, so you're not in awful spouse territory.

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
  • The Steelers game yesterday had me so agitated I got drunk in the middle of the day.

I haven't worked out in like 3 weeks.  Every day I don't work out I get mad at myself but still haven't done anything about it.

    Shot first, questions later.
  • My confession is...

I feel like H and I don't fit in anywhere at our new base because we don't have any children. :( We are the only childless couple in his squad, so we get left out. I wish they had a "No kids" group so we could find others in our situation, because we can't be the only ones.... can we?

Yeah. That game was awful. If I hadn't been driving, I would have drank over mine (NY Giants) too. Started out so well, and then off a cliff.

    Ha.

Due to a PERSEC fool on another board, I realized one of the posters is working down the street from me right now.  Full name, base, and job, all on the nest.  Dumb.

  • I am getting slightly annoyed with my older brother.  He has to be out of his house 9on base) by the end of the month.  Since my other rbother is living with my parents there is no room for him to go there.  So we told them they could come here.

I just called asking if it is becoming more of a possibility if they are comin ghere or now ebcause if it is we need to clear out the bedrooms for them so they can put their stuff in there.  He won't give me an answer! Grrrr  I know he is still hoping to get a job by the end of the month but still could you at least say well right now yes it looks like we will be there unless i get a job in the next three weeks.  Oh well I will just plan that they will be here.

  • This is totally lame and not really a confession. But we're ordering Dominoe's tonight for two reasons:

    1. Carryout large, 3 topping pizza for $8. Score!

    2. You know that commercial about the pizza tracker app? Yeah, we're nerds and wanted to see if it really works. It does, and currently I'm in stage 3 of 5--the "baking pizza" zone!

    I'm very excited about this.

You can even change the "skin" for your pizza tracker app. Try the rocker one, it's funny lol.

"Your pizza is on it's WaaAAaaAAaaY" <--says it in a rocker voice hahah!

Yeah. There was a point where H and I were also obsessed with how cool the tracker app was. Technology, man.

I love the pizza tracker app. We changed it to I think it was the cheerleader one and I was throughly terrified I made Allan change it back.

I am so coming over for dinner tonight.  We are having a a stovetop chicken bake thing.  It is good but pizza sounds better.

  • You're know you're always welcome at Casa de Hunter! I say Hunter because really, he's the one who really runs this house. C and I are merely allowed to live here. Also, there are brownies. :)

And I didn't know about the "skins" you could put on the pizza tracker! Too cool, we may have to try that when my parents get here. They're helping us with (much needed) yard work and I have a feeling Domino's will be making a repeat appearance.

I was just thinking the doggies should have a play date maybe next weekend as this weekend we both have family here.

I'm so with you on this. I had a very bratty moment yesterday when finding out that my husband who just got home will be leaving for another long training session that we didn't expect. Not right now but in the near future. And this will be before his deployment. It's like we have this set amount of time before deployment and they're taking some of it away from me and it makes me angry.

  • None of DH's co-worker friends have kids except for one.  I keep suggesting we hang out because her youngest is the same age as DD but I don't think she wants to.  She's super quiet and I'm all in your face mouthy nervous babble, so I don't know.

    Just commiserating sort of.
