Re: What is your go to meal

  • Baked Ziti with garlic bread. I like that I can put it in the oven and not worry about it while it's cooking.

  • Take out pizza, lol. We don't have people over for dinner often amd when we do it's usually not a sit down dinner event.

  • manicotti, stir fry, grilled something or spaghetti.

  • Usually some kind of pasta dish (baked ziti, manicotti, etc) if I'm trying to do a nice sit down. If it's just casual we usually throw something on the grill.

  • Go to would probably be either chicken on the grill or chicken fajitas with a whole choices of toppings.

The best part about grilled chicken is that DH is in charge of the grill, so I only have to make sides. It's even better if I decide to do some kind of casserole side so I get it in the oven before anyone comes over and then I have nothing to do but socialize and pour wine for everyone :)

  • We usually do chicken cutlets on the grill after marinating for a few hours, with homemade mac & cheese.  If I have a lot of time (rare these days), I like to make homemade cavatelli with homemade sauce, and meatballs and/or Italian sausages.

  • Teriyaki pulled pork in the crock pot with hawaiian rolls and a salad. Tacos are also a good group meal.

  • Our easy go to meal is chicken & zucchini on the grill. I'll make a nice salad (field greens, dried fruit, candied pecans. Avocado, feta crumbles) & rosemary red potatoes. Simple, healthy & everyone always loves it.

  • Usually pulled pork sandwiches.  I do it in the crock pot, so it's not too time consuming.  So I can focus on sides and finishing cleaning the house.
  • I don't really have a go-to meal... it all depends on who is coming over. For DH's friends, I do homemade pizza or we grill out burgers. For my friends I do something fancier, like homemade pasta with a fancier salad or a risotto dish. I like to do Indian for my family, since I know they like it.

  • I usually do tacos/nachos/burritos.  Everyone can put what they want to on them and I have a good friend that doesn't eat beef so I can make it with turkey very easily.
  • I don't really have a go to meal. I'm always looking to try new things and it just depends on who it's for, what meat I have on hand, etc.
  • Reading this post jinxed me! H texted me this afternoon that his cousin in law (is that right?) and grandpa are staying with us tomorrow night. They requested mexican, so I'm making shredded chicken enchiladas and black bean/corn/tomato salad.
  • Usually we either do stuffed chicken breasts on the grill from the meat market out here or DH will do something in the smoker.
