manic monday

best and worst parts of your weekend!

Re: manic monday

  • Best: My yearly cyclocross bike race clinic went well! My two co-instructors were great, and the participants had fun.

Worst: Being so tired from lack of sleep and not getting caught up on any this weekend.

  • My weekend was so hectic!  My oldest turned 9 on Saturday so we started with weekend off with 7 of her girlfriends spending the night.  Cannot explain to you how loud eight 8/9 year old girls can be.  But I guess the best part is that I survived and have fulfilled my motherly obligation to host a sleepover.  Hopefully it will be quite some time before I have to do it again.

Worst: I think I upset a friend of mine :(  She's a few years younger than me and I know she's struggling w/ work.  She recently bought in to a business partnership and she's letting the stress of that turn her in to a crazy frazzled beyotch.  I know this bc I work from home as the bookkeeper for one of the partner companies but sometimes I come in the office just to get out of the house or help with the phones, whatever.  I hadn't been in the office all summer until I started dropping back in last week.  Woah, it blew my mind how different she was.  And it made me sad :(  So I tried to talk to her about it this weekend and it didn't go well :(  I'm supposed to go to the office at 10:00 this morning and I'm dreading that it is going to be awkward city.

  • best: mommy & me pilates class on sat.  it was a good workout and nice to socialize with some other mommies

worst: baby K's sleep issues.  our good little sleeper now wakes up multiple times a night.  we put her to bed last night at 5:30 in hopes of getting her to sleep longer.

  • best - getting baptized last night with my dh. it was amazing and so powerful!!

worst - dh not feeling really well.

  • Best: Saturday driving in the mountains, hanging in the park and then an awesome dinner cooked by dh

Worst: on the beginning of my run yesterday I was trying to avoid getting hit by a taxi and twisted my ankle in a electrical cover box on the sidewalk and scraped my knee. I then had to hobble home. :(

  • best: finding the mirror for the downstairs bathroom on sale! it's gonna look SO awesome =) plus, i loved finally seeing the dawgs play like they want to win...there was a lot of fight in the team i haven't seen in a long time

    worst: still losing saturday =(

  • Best - Our kitties were so good at the vet's office on Saturday. Mittens wasn't happy about the car ride, but both were fine once we got there. It's been nearly a year since they've been out of our house, so I'd say it went really well.

Worst - We missed out on the beautiful weather by staying inside all weekend. We stayed home on Saturday to watch for vaccine reactions and by Sunday Sally wasn't feeling well and I was so sick, I didn't even get dressed.

  • Best: having so much fun with friends for a wedding weekend in Greenville; we also made some new couple friends

Worst: I was put off by some of the readings during the ceremony but of course kept that to myself out of respect for me friends. I don't mean to offend anyone's beliefs but I can't believe people are still so adamant that wives must be subordinate to their husbands and that the man is always the head of the household etc. Ick.

I've been to a wedding where the B/G were very surprised by the preacher's choice of reading. It spoke of cleaving an ox in half and standing in the circle of blood... one of the GM had to step out because he was going to faint or vomit. Ick!

best: coming home! Getting unpacked and laundry going. Having time on Sat night to get everything put away and relaxed for a bit. Got a pedi on Sun and watched the season finale of True Blood w/ the ILs.

worst: i did most of the driving from WDW. DH wasn't feeling well. OMG that is a long drive. We spent way more there than we probably would have if we had not chose the dining plan - we had to tip on the very large meals we ordered! Our Am/Ex is hurting already!

  • Best: Relaxing weekend overall.

Worst: Playing crappy tennis on Sunday. I hate that I know I can play better, but then I just sucked it up. So frustrating.

Ew! I thought the couple chooses the readings for the ceremony, no? I know for the one that I went to, the bride chose which was why I was so surprised.

  • Best: IRELAND

Worst: Trying to re-adjust to reality. The real world is not nearly as fun as vacation-land. For example, I have to give a presentation today and have a paper due tomorrow. YUCKY.
