Work Anxiety - how do you deal?
Morning everyone!
So, I get really bad anxiety about work - usually really bad at the beginning of the week and it dwindles once I hit Thursday PM. I don't go in until noon on Mondays, but all I can think about is work and how I don't want to go and how I have so much to do and won't get to do it cuz I'll keep getting interuptions and THEN I keep thinking about all the stuff at home I should/could be doing if I wasn't there...
Anyone else have this problem?
How do you deal?
I should probably look or a new job, huh...
Re: Work Anxiety - how do you deal?
Ditto Spence, but I also wanted to add that my office has programs to help employees deal with stress. Do you have anything like that? It might be worth looking into if you have a program like that available.
I'm sorry you're so stressed out, that's no fun at all!

I do have anxiety problems, so that doesn't help when it comes to work, but I don't want to go back on meds cuz they were messing with me big time.
I don't know if I hate my job - I can't decide lol but I KNOW I am overwhelmed with too much to do. I just started this position in July - I was promoted - so I'm trying really hard to give it time. Now that school has started (I work for U of M) I'm getting some work-study students, but that's stressful too cuz I've never had to train/be the boss of anyone before and it's kind of intimidating.
Yeah, I actually just got an e-mail today about U of M's program to help deal with work stress. I think I might call them.
As for now, I keep a box of tissues and some rescue remedy at my desk and try to push through. I also just started an exercise program, so maybe that will help, too.
Thanks for listening
I work for U of M too and that email was why I suggested the stress management programs. It's definitely worth a shot! Good luck!

I also work at UofM and I haven't used their stress management program but I did use the employee assistance program when I was suffering from anxiety/panic attacks really bad. I feel for you because I know how it feels to deal with that on a regular basis. I'm also going to send you a PM.
