Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

I've always thought of it as ths:
Before you get married: your parents and siblings
After you get married: You and DH and then any kids you may or may not have.
I think this is true in most cases. I just choose to still include my mom and sister. I think it's the core familial unit and technically you create a "new family" w/DH & future children.
I guess when I stop and think about it I would add my sister and my mom and aunt (they live together) to my immediate family.

Me getting married doesn't demote my parents to extended family.
