Has anyone used PROACTIVE SOLUTION while pregnant??

Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has used Proactive Solution while pregnant?? I'm driving myself crazy lately (and being really hard on myself) about it. I'm pregant and I've used Proactive for a long time. It's the only thing that helps maintain my skin well. The cleanser has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide in it and the repairing lotion does as well. I've asked my doctor and they won't give me a straight answer on it. So I feel guilty using it!!! And obviously don't want to use it if I shouldn't while pregnant. However, others say it's FINE to use - benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. So I'm very confused and guilty and unsure what I should do! I'm looking to see if anyone else has used it and had healthy babies, etc..

If you have used this or know someone who has while pregnant, can you tell me your thoughts??

I need your advice!

Thank you :(

  • I don't now nor have I ever used Proactiv, but my thought is that if you have to question whether or not to use it, it's probably best to avoid it all together, especially with a product like that with so many chemicals.

I do know that they advise against using too many products with salicylic acid though.

  • i have never had an issue with acne, but while preg w/ dd #1 i had all kinds of stuff going on in my 1st tri, i used it.  no problems...good luck.  i would maybe call proactive directly and speak with them

  • My OB told me it was fine to use my Rx benzoyl peroxide products while pregnant. However, I also feel that if I told my doctor I fell down the stairs and landed on my stomach he would have said, eh, it's fine. I think I read too much on the internet that scared me out of using BP or SA pregnant. I switched to tea tree products (lush and body works carries) which worked well.  GL.
