Tree Sap/Pitch Removal from Pants

Hi there, the hubs sat on a bench at a wedding in July and he got sap in several spots on his linen shorts across the butt, and I have *no* idea how to get this out. Thoughts???

Re: Tree Sap/Pitch Removal from Pants

  • I get maple sap on my truck every spring. I just hose it off. It should wash out in the wash. If you are worried about it setting if it doesn't come out. take some water, dawn, and a brush and try to scrub it. Good luck!

  • It did already get washed and dried :-( Will try these two ideas and go from there!

    THANKS

  • Sounds like it is time for a new pair of pants, sorry! :(

  • So I tried baking soda and dish soap w/toothbrush on one part (spattered across seat of pants). No bueno.

Tried baby  oil and toothbruch on  part two. No bueno.

Tried baby oil & baking soda on part three. It actually took the majority of it out...Let's hope when I get home tonight and wash & view them they look okay. Otherwise, something to wash the windows with will become of the pants!
