XP: Le Creuset favorite sizes/pieces?
I posted on WC earlier, but didn't really get much help. Anyone here have any advice?
I'm slowly converting all of my cookware to Le Creuset pieces.
So far I have 2 dutch ovens; a 3.5 qt round and a 6.75 qt oval.
I'm
considering a brassier, skillet or grill pan and another dutch oven.
I've read that the steel stock pots weren't very good, so I'm thinking
that I'll steer away from that (unless anyone else has a different
experience?)
What sizes and pieces do you have? What do you think would be most useful as everyday cookware?
Thanks!

My crafting/gardening/cooking/living life blog
Everything, no joke. I really cook everything in mine.
I've done rice dishes, pasta dishes, meat, boiled water, veggies, whatever.
It's really awesome for browning meat then baking in the oven.
It conducts heat really well and evenly. I use it on the stove top and in the oven.
sounds like i need one.
I really want to get one of the dutch ovens! What size did you get first?
I would agree with pp about getting the skillet next.
Any reason you want more than dutch ovens?
We have Staub dutch oven (similar to Le Creuset) but then have a lodge cast iron skillet, and the rest of our stuff is stainless steel all-clad (with the exception of one non-stick pan).
The braiser's my most-used LC piece. I have 5-qt. and a 2-qt. round French ovens, a 2.5-qt. oval French oven (a totally unnecessary piece, but it's cute and was a gift), the braiser, a two-burner grill pan, and an oval griddle.
OMG I love Le Creuset. We have a braising pan, a dutch oven, and... something else. LOL But I love the braising pan, it's so verstatile! And of course the dutch oven is just plain useful for everything! Oh yeah, the other thing is a stock pot (not cast iron, but still enameled). We also have a tea kettle, which we use all the time. Love it!
ETA: As for our experience with the stock pot - it's okay. It seems flimsy, but it really holds up well to what use we've put it through. It does stain easily, though (you should only use wooden/rubber utensils with it), and since DH does a lot of bean cooking, those remnants stay in it for.ev.er.

My first was the 3.5 qt round. It's an awesome size for 2 people and super useful. I'd highly recommend that size for a first piece.
I have calphalon pots and pans already, but I like the way LC heats better. I feel like it holds heat, but doesn't scorch as easily as the calphalon pans.
I really like that it's like a non-stick surface with the enameled cast iron. It makes it much easier to clean than traditional stainless steel pans.
I've had the little one for almost 3 years now and it looks brand new still.
Thanks everyone else for your input! It helps a lot.
