I need a frosting recipe for A's birthday cake. My mom has already ordered a cake for the party, but I want to make her a little cake just for her. Does anyone have an easy and yummy frosting recipe? TIA
Re: Frosting Recipes?
How small of a cake?
Anywho. If you want to make one from scratch, I know 2 simple ones. First is a buttercream. Take 1 stick of unsalted butter. Put in bowl, and beat until fluffy. Gradually add 2-3 cups of powdered sugar, beating well after each addition. Add a tsp of flavouring, beat in. Or, a quick creamcheese frosting. Beat 1 package of creamcheese, 1/2 a stick of butter together. Add 1.5 cups of confectioner's sugar, and a splash of vanilla extract.
If you want to "doctor up" a ready-made frosting: melt 1/2 cup of white chocolate in the microwave. Let cool slightly. Empty one can of french vanilla icing into a bowl, and whip until lighter. Fold in white chocolate.
Those sound really good! I'll try them this weekend and see which one I like best. Thanks!
