boston gtg girls and locals
Okie dokie, so I have been checking out VRBO for a place to stay. I found this place:
Local girls- it doesn't say a specific location, but sounds close. Public transit stop 3 min away, 10 min by car. Is there anything else in the listing that might tip you off to the location? I did email the owner to verify the dates (14-16) are available, the rate, and the location.
How many OOT girls are going to need a place to stay, and for how many nights? This place has 3 bedrooms, and a pull out I believe. Not sure if anyone wants to share a bed, but maybe we can get several girls in this place. Maybe a local girl has a blow up mattress we could borrow?
Let me know your thoughts.

What an excellent idea Mary! I don't know why I didn't think of that site as I'm always checking it for places to visit!
It's in Malden, which I'm not familiar with, but I'm sure the local Boston girls will be.

How'd you figure out the location? Am I blind?

Malden is on the orange line which I'm not as familiar with, but it sounds like its close to public transportation. You can most likely park at the T station or cab it. Depending on traffic Malden isn't too bad of a drive. 30 minutes w/ traffic etc.
Malden isn't a great town, but it is close to the city so should be easy access. For $200 a night you might be able to find something downtown as well.
I'll have a car also to do shuttles if need be (depending on the location).
Sam - that $200/night is for the whole house so it would be split quite a number of ways (depending on how many would be staying there).
How many of us need accommodations? I think Jess said she was staying with her friend and the local girls are taken care of. I guess I'm not sure of the count of people at this point.

2012 Reading Challenge
Well...it's booked. Maybe she should update her calendar.
Not sure about the hotels. We could probably only do 2, maybe 3 people to room if someone wants to sleep on a rollaway (they charge for that though, right?). I am just not familiar with the area and what is and isn't a good neighborhood, so it is hard to search. And I figure everyone wants to keep costs down.

I have two blow up mattresses that I am willing to "sneak" into a hotel room if need be!! One is queen size the other is a twin. As of now I plan on going, but funds are getting kind of tight around here so I will probably be a last minute decision, but I really really want to go!
This hotel is in Brookline on the C-Green Line. It is down the street from Fenway and close to the Longwood Medical area. It is a little on the expensive side at $279/room but you have direct access to the city and it is a safer area.
Anything else on hotel.com that was cheaper was further out and anything closer was more expensive. I'm going to look around on some other sites.
ETA: I think this is the one Sam was referring to above.
I also found this one. It is even more expensive though but you are right over the river in Cambridge right by the end of the Green Line (and the mall). It would probably be a little bit quicker T ride than the Brookline one, but it is $30 more per night.
I can't find any hotel cheaper than the $279 above that are close.
