ugh job sadness
When I started my job in June they told me that the insurance companies don't recognize my certification, so I can't advance or get paid more. A few weeks ago I found a job posting for someone with my certification. The salary listed is significantly higher than mine. They've already hired for that position. I talked to the director today and she pretty much said I'll be stuck at entry level. And they won't pay me more than that, even though I have the exact same qualifications as the new girl. So my degree is worthless.
I'm beyond pissed. The job was posted in July, so they've had plenty of time to talk to me about it. They didn't even consider me. Makes me feel like I'm awful at my job and I'm not wanted there. H thinks I'm undervalued and need to find a new job. I love my kids, but think he might be right.

Okay, wait.
The company you work for hired someone with your same certification for a higher salary and they're telling you you aren't qualified for that?? That makes no sense whatsoever.

In our field, and I know you know this, you can't burn yourself out and that means working with a company and team that appreciate you. Because your supervisor went under your feet like that, I would think they are being shady about other things too. Good luck on your job search!

wow that's crazy to me even after asking she said you're stuck...um why does the new girl who has the same certification get paid more? I don't understand that at all.
Unfortunately I would find a new job because like a pp said if they were shady about this they will be shady again and you won't ever fully be happy.
