Taco Tuesday?

Just trying to make the post title sound fun, since we all hate Tuesday, and hell, who doesn't like tacos?

Slept gloriously last night.  Did not want to wake up this morning though.

Went for a nice little run yesterday--my running is all messed up because all of our roads are washed out here, so the only loop I can do is only 2.5 miles or I can run and then run back the same way, but that is so boring to me.  Tonight I am going to run 5 or 6 miles out and just have Gerren come get me bc I do not want to run out and back.  I am an assshole like that.

Also got some laundry done and called the insurance about some flood damage.  And got super caught up at work yesterday and hope to continue that momentum today!

I lead an exciting life, eh?

Stephanie, happy last day at work for 12 days!

Re: Taco Tuesday?

  • yeah, Steph enjoy your last day for a while!!!

Shauni-  How are things coming along in the area with the flooding, etc??

My night sucked.  Our cheapo dinner was nice together but then since money is tight we went to go add boy things to our registry that I had started online before we knew what we were having.  It did not go well.  Got into 2 fights at Babies R Us. Once we got in the car, I didn't talk to J.  I was so mad, hurt, etc.

He's just being such as a$$ right now and as no idea about any of this baby crap.  I'm trying to educate myself and read up on things (like breastfeeding, since I have no clue), but then we talk about things it I get "You don't know everything."  WELL, I'M SORRY!!!  I GUESS I MISSED THE PART WHERE YOU GREW A PAIR OF BREASTS THAT YOU PLAN ON FEEDING OUR CHILD WITH.  JUST B/C YOU LIKE TO LOOK AT BOOBS DOESN'T MAKE YOU A MASTER ON THEM!!!!

sorry, to make my post all about baby crap.

  • I hate Tuesday. I love tacos. I love the thought of not working for 12 days after today. Kiss my grits, betches!

    Hallelujiah and afarkingmen.

Last night I worked late. I got home at 7, ate, then we spent a few hours packing and picking up. I think I actually packed appropriately. Even though I am sorely tempted to pack one zillion more things, I won't. Well, maybe one more lounge outfit. MFD was packed before me, so if your world is spinning backwards on its axis today, that is why.

I have no zipper bags for my carryon so I have to stop and get one tonight. I hate taking open bags on planes. *** always falls out. MFD is taking my backpack so oh damn I will have to purchase an awesome new bag from Marshall's tonight. Still, I can't believe I don't have one. I am a bag lady.I have 47028 open bags.

I also have to pick up some toiletries, tap the mac machine and call my credit card company to tell them I'll be out of the area.

Work is already being a pre-vacation butthole hole and I've only been here for an hour.

  • I'm sorry J is being a douchelord right now Mary. He might be anxious about changes to come, so maybe you guys could talk about that and you'll both feel better. If he's just being a douche to be one, then I advise a swift kick to the mommy daddy button.

  • I had yummy tacos last night for dinner..

We went out to watch some MNF last night! Patriots looked great as did Brady! I dominated in 1 fantasy football league. I am in 2 this year because Greg need 1 more person in his league so the nice caring wife that I am join. I didn't even draft that team because we were at a party so I just put it on autodraft. I would have one but 2 of my player did not show up for their games.

I went to get my coffee this morning and the women who worked there was very nice because the floor where you get the coffee had just been washed she didn't want to me go in s slip and fall so she went and got my coffee for me. However, I think she may had got me decafe instead of regular.. Boooo.!!!

On a happy note when I got in my car the radio station I listen to was for reason started playing bits and pieces of NKOTB's "Please Don't Go Girl" and a little "Hang in Tough" So that made my probably uncaffinated morning awesome!

  • Tacos please.  Suck it Tuesday.

Soo farking tired.  Stayed up late to watch my Broncos lose.  Shocker.  I'm surprised if we're over 500 this year.  What else is new?

Been lurking a lot lately.  Went to a management seminar this past week and their number one stresser was lead by example.  Not a good idea to sit on TN all day.  But one guy called in sick this morning and my other girl is late.  Boo hiss on them.

Took a kick arse zumba class yesterday and was riding high all the way home until the surgeon called.  He said he can't see my ACL on the MRI and that it's most likely torn again.  In order to fix, it's a minimum of 2 more surgeries.  Um, hell to the farking no, it took me 6 mos to recover last time.  So now I get to live w/ pain forever or get more operating done.  Not a happy lady.

Shauni-love your KW pics, glad you and miss liadee had a blast w/ your menfolk

Steph-so jealous of disney.  please post pics and make us more jealous

SusieQ-glad I could be a bad influence on you at the Coach store,  did you buy anything?

Dia-Please wrap Mango up and send him/her? my way immediately.  DH and I are currently obsessed w/ brindled boxers.  And I would've paid good money that I don't have to see you pee in a drawer.  hilarious! :)

Mary-sorry for all the bickering w/ DH.  I'm pretty sure it's a normal reaction on both your parts before LO arrives :(

  • brew, so sorry to hear about the knee surgery stuff.  tough decision to make.

steph, so jealous, have such a great time!  cannot wait to see pictures!

mary, i bet hubs is just as stressed and confused as you are and he is not channeling it in a good way.  keep up the communication, and here is hoping to a speedy resolution--i hate being "off" with gerren.

  • Misty, so sorry about your knee. That is a tough one. I don't know what I'd do.

  • Wow. It looks like most of us a little down today.  My coworker just came in to tell me she got a promotion and starts her new job on Monday.  I'm sitting here miserable, because I'm stuck in a dead end job, watching people get promoted/move on all over, and I have no clue which direction I even want to head in to get out.

DH is out of town, so on Sunday I bought a webcam so we can Skype.  It actually helps a little, being able to see him.

I'm leaving work early for an eye appointment - even though my boss never responded to my email asking permission.  I have to convince my doc to give me contacts in less than two weeks!  I shouldn't have waited so long, but this vacation kind of snuck up on me.  If we go snorkeling again, I'd like to be able to SEE things.  I used to wear contacts many years ago, but then my eyes were getting super sensitive to light, so I stopped.

My deal is that I am going to murder your puppies and piss on your rainbows. -diablesse Lilypie Premature Baby tickers
  • I am exhausted as always. I was here until 8 last night because I had a call with an Australian client. Then I had a soccer game in which I blocked a shot with my thigh. I now have a soccer ball pattern imprint there. The mark isn't as impressive as I was hoping it would be. (I'm such a loser and an AW).

I'm super excited for dinner table Tuesday tonight! This local restaurant offers take out for cheap that's supposed to be for like 8 people. H and I will make it last the rest of the week and it is effing DELICIOUS.

Also excited about my hair cut! My hair is out of control!

(An unmatched left parenthesis creates an unresolved tension that will stay with you all day.

Had a dream I was queen.
    Woke up. Still queen.
  • Moleson - sorry to hear about the bickering, but I'm sure it's just stress.  Try to take a little breather from the baby talk and see if he comes around.  As a side note - I didn't know until recently how much really goes into breastfeeding!  Would it be possible to take a class and have him come along, or recommend a book for him to read (without being pushy), so that maybe he can see that it really is more than just sticking a boob in a kid's mouth?

This weekend was a much-deserved break.  Friday night Jeff worked late and I did laundry, ironed, and packed.  Then we finally picked up my FedEx package, grabbed a quick dinner, and finished packing.  Saturday was our anniversary - in the morning we slept in, had a big breakfast (peanut butter chocolate chip Belgian waffles!), and drove to Cape May.  I am in love with the navigation on my new phone - we really, really needed a GPS!  We checked into the hotel just in time to shower and get ready for our fancy anniversary dinner, which was a-MAZ-ing.  I had lobster bisque and duck breast, and he had cavatelli with braised lamb app and rack of lamb entree.  After that we were stuffed, so we rested in our room for a bit, then headed out for mini-golf, shopping on the boardwalk, and some arcade games.

Sunday we ate at our favorite breakfast place, laid on the beach for a while, then had lunch and went back to the arcade.  Then we had yummy dinner #2, which was a tapas place.  They had awesome martinis and the food was really good - I actually wrote them an e-mail requesting their crab and sweet corn bisque recipe, and I have some delicious lobster mac & cheese leftover for lunch today!  It wound up storming like crazy so we didn't too anything after dinner but snack on fudge and macaroons.  We had a few too many martinis and wound up deciding to book a reservation for Monday at a nice place local to us that we've been meaning to try.

Monday we drove home after a second yummy breakfast, and got home in time to go grocery shopping, give Jeff a haircut, and organize the house a little bit before dinner.  All of our stuff was still piled high in preparation for flooding, so I took the opportunity to not only get the house looking half-decent, but also reorganize and throw away a bunch of crap we don't really need.  Dinner was really good, too - so glad we finally checked out this restaurant, it's only five minutes from our house and the food was excellent.  Definitely a good date-night option, and it's nice to find a place that doesn't require us driving into the city.

So yeah, now I'm back at work.  No one is here, as usual.  Maybe everyone will come out of the woodwork when I put out the fudge and taffy that I brought back!  Sorry for the novel, I'm just excited about our anniversary vacation :)  And I have no one to talk to...

  • Mary-I really feel you right now.  K and I are off and at 1 am while feeding the baby I finally worked out that I'm just feeling very under- / unappreciated right now.  It sucks to come home from work, cook while trying to get a few minutes with the baby, put him to bed and then do the dinner dishes while K sits on his ass in front of the tv.

Baby Q is currently squirming around in the pack n play while I WAH.  Work is so slow right now so I'm pretty much just being available for emails or questions.  But Q is pretty content and getting his tummy time (although he needs a nap and is being stubborn).  And now he's starting to fuss...

Oh, and we had two trees that needed to be cut down at the end of our driveway.  We hired a tree guy, he came and took all the branches/leaves off and left the trunks standing.  This was almost two weeks ago.  Now I have to chase the bastard down and find out when he's coming back to finish the job.  At least we haven't paid him yet.

  • Steph - super jealous of your trip. Hope you enjoy every last minute of no work.

Moleson - so sorry y'all aren't on the same page but maybe it's just a case of pre-baby jitters and J not knowing how to communicate it? I hope y'all get back "on" soon.

Brew - eek on knee surgery or being pain forever. :/

Laura - glad y'all had a nice anni vacation!

Nothing interesting to report. Went home and crashed last night while J watched Nadal lose :( He went to get take out then asked if I was pregnant when I requested ice cream at 10:30 at night...I'm not. I just wanted something sweet and he eats everything in bulk so yeah.

Teachers are getting on my effin' nerves today. So glad tomorrow is an early release day. I need a day to organize everything and make copies and just a break. Writing a couple reports before this afternoon and therapies all day.  That is all...

  • Thanks for all the words of wisdom ladies.  Smile

I would also like to add that even though it's only 9:50 am, I now really really want some tacos.  Dang it!  :-)

  • Laura, sounds like you had a fabulous time? What was the name of the restaurant where you had the amazing meal?

Shauni, your consistent nightly runs make me feel like a lazy, fat, slob.  I can see my thighs growing daily.  I have finally acknowledged that for the first time since college, I'm gaining weight.

Brew, wtf with your knee?  That's awful.  Have you decided what you want to do? And wrt Mango, we were supposed to be just fostering him, so I would have sent him. hahaha.  But Apple loves him and I don't think we could separate them.

Molson and Suzie, whenever I get a little sad that I'm not pregnant yet, is it awful that hearing about your difficulties make me feel a little better?  :)    I know my time is coming...when I will fight with Chris over shared responsibilities etc.  Hopefully.

EmiLee...hang in there sweetie.  You'll figure out the job thing.  Did I mention I peed on my bridelizilla pin? :(     :D

  • Hey ladies. I'm late joining in today and I didn't have a chance to get in on the hilarious weekend recaps that was yesterday until late. I always miss the good stuff. :)

Brew- Yuck on the possibility of surgery, but 6 months of crappiness may outweigh crappiness for the rest of your life... hard decision IMO.

Moleson/Susie- sorry you and the hubs are "off" over the new issues a LO can bring. I have no advice, but agree with the "off" feeling with my hubs lately too.

Steph- Jealous of your trip! Have a blast.

Laura- Souds like you had a great time on your anniversary trip. Lots of awesome time spent and amazing food... :)

Dia- your story yesterday (and the poochy pic) made me laugh and appreciate your hubby for cleaning up...

Shauni- Your Key West trip sounded amazing as well, and I have been thinking of the rebuild effort that must be starting in your area as well.

  • Aww...sorry for all the crappiness.  Hope it all works out for you guys.

Fish tacos.  I can't eat fish tacos.  Never tried one but I don't like fish so I would definately not like a fish taco.

Night was good, my Raiders won (won't rub it in Brew).  It was a roller coaster game, and I cursed like a sailer.  Screamed a couple of times, which drove the neighbor dogs crazy.

Nothing major planned for today.  I think I'll get my brows and upper lip waxed today during lunch.  I also need to go to Target for bleach and John Freida Smoothing creme.

Gerren and I finally were able to drive around and see some of the destruction outside of our town and it is truly amazing.  We are going on Saturday to help some families dig out, clean up, etc.  Seriously, hundreds of homes are just washed away, it is so heartbreaking.  I can never get pictures to work on here, but if you all are my FB friends I posted some (Gerren wouldn't stop so I could only snap a few when we were behind slow moving dump trucks) pictures of what we saw.

  • Shauni, my aunt lives in upstate PA and last week they had awful flooding and have the same aftermath there. It is so awful. Her house was ok so yesterday she was out cleaning up some stores in neighboring towns.

QoA - awesome dinner. I love having leftovers too.

Laura - Happy anniversary! Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I love the Washington Inn.

Susie - I'd be a totally resentful b*tch under those circumstances. I think a lot of women go through that and are like WTF husband, help. Appreciate. Recognize. I know all of my friends who have babies dealt with that. It's maddening. Someone once told me that when you have a baby, life changes 100% for the woman and 10% for the man. Kill me now if I rear children and that is my future. I will be the psycho on the news who put all of her husband's belongings in his car and torched it.

This is my big dilemma.  Good news is I can decide whenever I want, there's no immediate time limit.  I may get a second opinion to help me decide.
