Today's question: What's your favorite childhood memory?
Re: QOTD - Tuesday
It's tough to pick just one, but the first that comes to mind is spending summers at my grandpa's, playing with my BFF all day. I may have shared this before, but our grandparents lived next door to each other, and we were both there practically every day of summer since our parents were at work during the day and we were too young to stay home alone. Sometimes we'd take turns going over each other's for lunch, other times we'd break for lunch, then back to playing. We played with beanie babies, dolls, Polly Pockets, you name it. We made a "clubhouse" out of my grandfather's back porch, which was a blast. We also kicked our flip flops off as we would swing on the swing set in my pap's yard. We'd try to get them across the alley onto her grandparents' driveway. Those were the days.

Hmm that is a really difficult question for me to answer with just one memory, so I'm going to cheat and give you two.
Playing soccer growing up when it was stress free and we were just out there having fun. Playing in the grass, in the sun, with the cool breeze. It is my little vision of heaven.
Second is all the hiking trips I took with my dad and brother. Backpacking through the mountains and seeing what I thought were hidden treasures deep in the forest, like lakes and streams. (I grew up in New Mexico and water is an amazing thing to me!)
A few:
'Kick the can' with the neighborhood kids.
The ice cream man.
Camp Molly Lauman sleeping under a meteor shower.
I don't think I can pick just one.
Baking with my mom.
Christmas morning with my family and all the traditions that go along with it.
Camping with my family.
Playing soccer and always having my parent's there to support me.
family vacations at point sebago in maine. it was my grandparents, great aunt & uncle (my grandpa's brother), my second cousins, and then my mom and other family would come up on the weekends. there were lots of fun activities in the morning and then we'd swim all afternoon. my grandpa & great uncle would go catapult us into the water which we all LOVED! one of my favorite photos ever is of me & my grandpa in a raft on the lagoon when i was 6 or 7.
I'll share two
- playing at the duck pond near our house when we lived in Germany
- growing up near St Louis and enjoying the museums, botanical gardens, the Arch, etc... (eta, this would have to include when I spent the night at the St Louis Zoo with my girl scout troop. Hundreds of girl scouts descended on the zoo and my best friend and I got to sleep away from the rest of our troop. I was only mad we didn't get to sleep in the reptile room - haha)
