Hello,
Normally I post on the GP board but I was hoping to get some help over here!
I live on the east coast and we were without power for about 4 days following the recent hurricane... some food defrosted in the freezer and we didn't know it, but the blood must have got down the drain into the drip pan below the fridge.
Our drip pan is "non-removeable." So far we have wiped it down as best we could using a hanger, paper towels and bleach water... most recently I just filled the drip pan with a shallow layer of baking soda water (our fridge manufacturer recommended this).
Any other ideas or thoughts?
TIA!

Re: Stinky fridge help!
Oh no, how awful!
Have you poured anything through the drain to make sure it's not hanging out in there? Maybe just water or water with a little bit of baking soda disolved in it?
But other than that, I think it will just have to get better over time as it dries out.
Thanks, I hadn't really thought of pouring it down the drain part. So far the baking soda/water I put in the drain pan seems to be helping. Unfortunately I also think it will just take some time!

We had a fridge at work that started to stink.
The only way we could get the stink out was by emptying it completely out (which I know would be really tough at home) and unplugging it. Let it defrost over night completely. Wiped everything clean in the morning and plugged it back in. It was all good after that.
Edited to say work, not home.
