How to remove sticker from fabric?

Hi everyone, I'm an occasional lurker on this board, so I hope you won't mind me asking for your help. I have a slipcover that is a stretchy material. It looks like one of my kids may have put a sticker on it at some point and then it was washed. So all that's left is a white spot that won't come off. Any tips on how to safely remove this without damaging the fabric or the color (it's a chocolate brown color)? TIA! :)

Re: How to remove sticker from fabric?

  • Have you tried rubbing a ice cube over it?  I'm not sure if it will work after the item has been washed.  The ice freezes the gumminess and makes it easier to get off.
  • I have found in my many spills while doing my nails, that straight acetone does not stain or bleach out fabrics (athough it definitely ruins any hard materials lol). I would try that, and just to be sure do a little colorfast test on it somewhere you can't see but it might work. OR you can try peanut butter, but then you'd hvae to 409 it to get the PB grease out... maybe not the best idea.
