Missing work

I have had to miss two days in a row because DS's sitter's son is sick and I'm getting the vibe that my supervisor is not happy about it.  I sent him a message to let him know I would be out today too and he did not respond, which is unlike him.

  • Oooooooookayyyyyy...

Do you not have any backup for if your sitter is out?

Unfortunately there's not a lot of people or even daycare centers in our area

  • Do you have a SAHM friend that might be able to help when situations like this arise? If not, is there enough flexibility in your work's schedule, that you could make up a day on Saturday? Maybe instead of you taking the full day off, you and your DH could each take a half day?
  • I'm guessing it's not possible for you to get any work done from home?
  • how often does this happen?

if its very infrequent...then dont think too much about it.  But, definitely work on having a back up.

  • Not very often and I'm back at work today, my supervisor seemed fine.  It still leaves me feeling uneasy when I have to do it though.  I'll have to continue to look for a back up

  • I suggest that you try finding some options as taking offs for your DS would not help in making a better impression in your office and workplace.
