This is sort of wedding related but not really.
I have been going back and forth on getting some maternity pictures done but in the style of e-pics with a regular photographer, as in I don't want pictures of my bare belly or anything like that and I want Siavash to be in them as well.
We have gone back and forth on this a few times, and he would rather we wait until the baby is here to do pics, but I want some maternity pictures. We want to keep them at price cap of $250 max ( we did our e-pics for $100 for unlimited time. locations, edited pictures etc, from a really good photographer that we liked, but we want to mix it up and work with a different person so our pictures don't end up looking similar to our e-pics).
Is this price cap still reasonable? I am ok with limited time, limited location as long as we get edited high resolution pics. Can anyone recommend their photographers that they used in that price range?
TIA.
Re: Would you ladies be willing to help me out?
I don't have any suggestions for photographers - I'm sure others will chime in. However, I did read somewhere, once-upon-a-time, that maternity pictures should be done around the 7 month mark - you have a big enough belly to be cute, but you're not so far along that you are about to pop. Just a little tip
PS, I love the idea of doing "you and Siavash pics while you just so happen to be pregnant" rather than the typical bare-belly pictures
I am no help - I just wanted to say I looked at your ticker and thought that was a pumpkin instead of a squash. It kind of freaked me out for a second.
Have you researched this at all? Like pulled up blogs that you liked and then saw what the pricing was? That is what I did when I was looking for wedding photographers. I like Jennifer Strain -- she used to do weddings but only does maternity and newborns now. I thought she was reasonable back when she did weddings.

Thanks ladies..
Yeah I have been looking online and haven't found any photographers that would work for various reasons (availbility, price, etc) and was looking for a first hand experience from you ladies that liked your photographers that would fall in that range.
I really really don't want to go to/get pigeon holed into an exclusively maternity session because I really just want some natural looking pictures of just the 2 of us just like e-pics.

Definitely do them between 7-8 months so your belly is nice and big.
And you KNOW I'm a fan of loved-up portraits of a couple who just happens to be pregnant, so all my rec's will be leaning in that direction.
In this market, you can pretty much spend whatever you're looking to spend. There are people who specialize in children/family portraiture who are super pricey, and those that aren't. You can also sometimes catch a wedding photographer who's got some time or is looking to branch out their portfolio. "Reasonable" is really in the eye of the beholder, so what's important is that you know how much money you're comfortable spending. I don't think $250 is astronomically low, so you shouldn't have a terrible time finding someone who can work with that if you're willing to do the leg-work to find them (which you obviously are, because you're asking for help here.
)
I know several photographers who would be able to shoot an outdoor, natural light, loved-up session like you're talking about in that price range. I know you've got my email address, so if you want to email me about it, I'll totally send you some links to people who can help you out!
If you want this, I would use your E-pic photographer. He/she already knows you and you know them. It will still be a totally different session and your photographer should know how to make it look different than your E-pics.

I don't know if you liked my photographer, but I know she would do it for that price. Monica Salazar photography. I was really happy with the way everything turned out for the wedding and she's a sweetheart.
