how is your injury? are you back to running? I'm totally slacking on anything physical right now. bleck. just too busy.

  • It's doing so much better, but I still have to stretch a lot when I run, and I mean like 20 minutes of stretching afterwards lol. I have been doing C210K (a longer more time-intensive version of c25k). Since I already knew I could run I just had to find a program to help me ease back into it and it seems to be helping. I'm on week 5 which is running 2:30 and walking 2:30 10 times, so I'm up to running 23 minutes, and I'm running much faster than I was before. I thought that I would take this injury as an opportunity to get faster, so I've been concentrating on speed while I've been getting back to it. If I would keep up the tempo I'd be running close to 8 minute miles as opposed to the 10 that I was before. 

    I haven't ran this past week at all because I tweaked my neck from being too stressed out, so now I'm recovering from that pseudo-injury lol. I feel ya on being too busy, it sucks, doesn't it? 

  • thats great that you're getting back into it slowly. I was going to do a half marathon in october, but I decided against it because I just couldn't get my ass moving after my tri...

  • I love that someone else is nesting at the same time I am. 

    I had the same problem after my half last year. I ran it (somewhat pathetically) in October and then didn't run again until January. I've been playing soccer on a rec league though and it's been a ton of fun. We don't have practices so we just get together an hour a week and play.

     Are you going to try another tri? 

  • haha, I'm in class...and I finally got my internet to work!

     

    I'm not sure if i'll do another tri...it was a lot of fun, but pretty hard. i need a lot of time to train..and i just don't have it during the year.

  • lol I skipped class today :s I had way too much other work to do (like reading for thesis and writing a proposal) to sit in a 4 hour lecture class. So alas, I'm nesting hahaha - so productive.

    Also watching HIMYM season 4 and hopefully 5 before Monday when the new season starts!!! Eeeeep 

  • I'm doing an action research project, which is similar to a thesis. I'm excited because it will correlate to exactly what I'm doing in class (work), which will make for a nice and easy human studies approval process.

     

    DH and I just got into HIMYM this year, and we've never watched it new! haha

  • Ooh that sounds like your research and work will dovetail nicely! I have a science background so doing a thesis for landscape architecture is really hard for me because it's a social science and not a "hard" science where you can support or reject a hypothesis lol. I just feel like I'm writing a rhetoric paper. 

    And watching HIMYM new is actually frustrating. Since it's only half an hour long and there are like 8 commercial breaks it feels like you can't really get into it and that episode is over. I'm too spoiled from watching it on DVD lol

  • All caught up and ready to go!! I'm hoping the storyline is good this season, it was a little weak sauce last year
  • ughh I have no idea if i'm caught up. We only watch the reruns on tv, and they're always jumbled in order.
