Contacting the Pediatrician
Moms-- before your bambino was born, did you meet with your pediatrician? Or did you just make an appointment and hope for the best?

Re: Contacting the Pediatrician
we made an appt and hoped for the best (after scouring online reviews and finding a location that worked for us). it worked out okay with the doc but the office staff was horrible. straight up horrible. i had to throw out that i was dr. g to curb the attitude i got one day when i was referred to as mizzzzzz. i don't think that a face to face with the doc before would have helped to find that out since they were great on the phone when i called as a new patient.
2nd ped is awesome and it was a phone call and online reviews as well.
i feel like most peds run late but as long as they are good when you are back in the room with them i can forgive 20 mins. i refuse to be there on time and wait over an hour to see the doc.
That is so smart!
Thanks ladies. I have a number for a ped. that comes highly recommended from my cousin, so I'm not super concerned with the quality of the practice. I just wasn't sure if I should meet with them before hand or not. I didn't want to call and seem like a crazy, overbearing first time parent.
This is on my list of to do's in the next month, along with tour the daycare and pack my bag (this weekend's agenda). I'm going to try to get in to meet with them but I'm pretty confident that we'll be going with my choice.
edit - I'm a dummy and you do have a ticker
When I was pregnant I kept reading on the Bump how everyone was setting up interviews with pediatricians. I thought it was just a crazy bump thing but my ped has a night for interviews. I never interviewed them though. I knew I wanted flexible hours and my friend gave me a recommendation for a CHOP practice. After I thought about it I liked the fact that he would already be in CHOP's system if anything ever happened to him because that's where we would take him anyway. I haven't had any problems with them and I like that they have a 24 hotline to a nurse for questions.
