  If you are up for the drive, MrsReem's sister is a student stylist up in Ames and she did a FABULOUS job on my hair.  I was just thinking I need to get another appointment set up with her.  515.232.7250

  If you don't want to drive Carly at Clip Art in Waukee usually does my hair as well as my mom's.  She also does a great job, although its just a little shop in a strip mall so if you are looking for a full on salon experience it might not be the place for you.  (515) 987-0120

  I see Julie Stark at Definations, she's great! And since she rents her own chair, her prices are very reasonable.

  I love love love Salon W in the East Village downtown. I see Elle. Included in the price of a cut is a scalp/nack massage, paraffin wax hand treatment, and makeup touch up. They're always very welcoming and offer tea, water, wine, etc! It's the best!

  I adore my stylist.  Sarah Mecklenburg.  She's in the Westlakes Studios on Westown and about 68th.  You can contact her at 612-702-7230 or sarahmecklenburg@gmail.com.  I think it's about $40 for a haircut, and she does a scalp/neck massage, and she can do the parrafin hand wax thing too if you want.  Really like her a lot.  I trust her to do random stuff to my hair, and it always looks great, and grows out well.  Heck, my sister gets her hair cut by her, anytime she comes back to town (from Kansas and Hawaii!).

  I just tried Adia at Salon Bliss and LOVED her...they had(have still?) a promo where you tried a service and got a $20 giftcard to use right then or in the future. I really liked her! She was very nice and made me feel like i could ask questions without her being annoyed!

  This is a little late but I see Felicia at Bella Salon at Valley west. She runs around $35 I think. She is super sweet, listens and makes suggestions. I just got back from getting lo-lites not knowing what I really wanted. I haven't ever dyed my hair so I was clueless and she was very helpful.
