DH and I have been talking about getting a new (to us) SUV now that we need more room. We just paid off my car, and while I'd love to just not have a car payment for awhile, we really need something bigger. So I think we're getting this 2008 Ford Explorer this weekend! It's at a dealership a few hours south of us, so that's why we have to wait.
I called the dealership yesterday to see about financing, etc. They approved me for an awesome rate, so our payments will be less that what I was paying for my car.
DH also has a gig about an hour from there, so we're staying overnight. MIL is going to stay overnight at our house with Emily. I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, but I wasn't given much choice. I'm having a hard time finding a decent hotel though. I refuse to stay in a Budget Hotel. Yuck.

I'm slightly jealous too. We need to get more of a family car, but aren't going to do anything about it until we return from China, so we're stuck cramming all of the baby gear into Civics. lol

Cool! I have to admit we haven't had luck with explorer's though. DH and my SIL both had transmission issues with theirs and Ford won't recall them even though they should. SIL just traded hers in because they spent 3500 on the transmission and it was still messed up. I hope yours is better!
It may have just been the model year too. They both had 2006. I have an 07 Edge and have never had a problem!
