WWYD with this pipe? I need ideas!
DH got the word today that the septic vent pipe in our front yard (about halfway up and two/three feet off the driveway) must stay that way until closing. What we do with it after we own the house is our own business.
For a reference, here a link to the picture:

I really don't like that it's in the middle of the yard. I want to be clear on this: I completely and totally understand that this pipe has a function and is necessary.
WWYD with the pipe? Ideas?
Re: WWYD with this pipe? I need ideas!
Is there any way that you could use this for an outdoor light or a mailbox, without it looking utterly ridiculous? (It's hard to tell without the rest of your yard in the shot for context.)
Otherwise I would plant something that'll block it. Or maybe plant flowers around it and hang something from it, like a seasonal wreath or an address sign (123 Main Street). Again, hard for me to think of how silly/good that'd look without the rest of the yard in the view.
We had a propane tank conning tower right under our dining room window. It honestly looked like a submarine was surfacing in our front garden. We found a very realistic-looking boulder made by Createk -- they make the most natural-looking line of "fake rocks" for disguising propane tank covers, well heads, septic tank vents, etc., in several different colors. Ours became a focal point in our landscaping. Even the contractor who put in the propane tank was confused and couldn't figure out where the tank had gone.
We found ours through someone on Craigslist, but I've also seen them at some garden stores and hardscaping dealers.
I see this all the time up here.
I see it as an opportunity to plant a nice little planting bed around it with some tall stuff like euonymous, black eyed susan, autumn joy sedum, yarrow, spirea, etc. you may even be able to paint the pipe a dark green or something to blend in better with the surroundings.
