Re: Target.com down due to Missoni launch
I'm going to swing by the Wheaton Target on my way home and see if anything is left. They took forever to sell out of the Liberty of London stuff, so I am hopeful.
If anyone sees the flats in an 8.5, they're mine!!!
I was early to drop the pup off for doggie day care, so I decided to swing by the Target at Potomac Yard- the line at 5 til 8am was wrapped around the store. I went in anyway because I needed some cleaning supplies, but ended up Missoni shopping too.
I got:
the flats
the cardigan in the multi zig that matches the flats
the clutch that matches the flats
a hat, scarf and mitten set for our 18 month old niece
The store was completely cleaned out by the time I left at 8:15.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Silver Spring (Cherry Hill Rd.)
I saw another post on MM about other DC-area Target stores also being sold out. I think it's a lost cause.
Darn it. I should have gone into work late. Oh well, I'll just go in a few days and wait for restock and returns :-)
Its not new or part of the latest trend - Missoni is a pretty huge Italian fashion house, and has been around at least since the 70s, if not way before. Their trademark is lots of knits, bright color combinations, and a chevron pattern, which makes it pretty distinct and easy to recognize.
I suspect this is just like the flurry of activity surrounding the other designer collaborations at Target - people just want to own something "designer" at a discount price. And unlike some of the other pieces from other collections, some of these actually look like the real thing.
thanks for the info, kelxoxo. totally didnt realize it was designer ... i wouldve never thought.
not my style, but maybe i'll see it on someone and think it's great!
no fear - I had to Google " Missoni " -- I don't really care for it, but I guess that's just more for those who do !
