Leggings

CW is wearing leggings and a sweater today. Her ass is not covered. This is like a sweater you would wear with dress pants. It ends right after the waist. Call me an old lady, but I don't think this is work appropriate.

Re: Leggings

  • No it's not and definitely not for where you work.

  • It's not.

Y'all... the ladies in Europe totally wear leggins as pants. Not a fan.

  • Not work appropriate. Leggings are specifically listed on the "do not wear" list for my company's dress code.

  • Skinny girls can wear leggings as pants, but I don't think they do anything for bigger girls.

Agreed. I bought a pair of leggings at Target when they were $5. I planned to wear them under skirts or dresses when it gets cooler but I'm not sure I can pull it off. As I've said before, just because they make it in a person's size doesn't mean that person should wear it.

  • If I were skinny I would totally wear leggings as pants. But not to work.
  • What the? Who does that? Aside from not being appropriate, does it look ridiculous? It seems so very 80's to me. I know that leggings are back....but I didn't realize they were back in that way. I think this is fine (not for work)

But a sweater that ends at her waist? No.

  • I like leggings under a long sweater or tunic or something but I definitely don't think leggings as pants are appropriate for work, or even in general. By leggings as pants I mean wearing them with a waist length shirt. Anything else to me is wearing them like tights.

  • My rule for leggings, work or not, is that whatever shirt/dress I am wearing has to completely cover my ass, preferably a couple inches lower. My work is casual so I wear them like this fairly often.

Ass covered = Fine, in my book...

  • Leggings as pants is not okay, I don't care what size you are. Definitely not appropriate for work.
  • I don't think it is appropriate for work.. I'd only wear leggings with something covering my bum.

Yeah, I actually really like this look. I thought this particular outfit would be a bit flashy for work, but I'm ok w/leggings in general at work if the butt is covered.

  • I don't think even skinny girls should wear them without something over the buttock region. Unless you're pre-pubescent, just no.

This is the length of her shirt. I think the picture above is fine with leggings, not where I work though.
