PIP: DIY

Re: PIP: DIY

  • These are our apple favors. I pat myself on the back a little for these favors. The apples were from our family's orchard, and since we're both teachers and met at school it was sort of the perfect favor for us. We included a little carmel dip, too.

This is a non-pro pic and still pretty crappy, but I also really liked our cookie buffet. Granted, the only thing I did for this was buy the jars and make the signs. I had my people make the cookies. ;-) Each had a special label "Jennifer's favorite" "Arnold family tradition" "Nanny's famous snickerdoodles" stuff like that. They were a hit.

Our paper products also turned out really nice, but I don't have any good pro pics of those either. Some of the things my photog failed to get a picture of are just unforgiveable.

  • kind of hard to see, but this was the only pic I had of our table numbers - LOVED how they turned out - every onoe had the striping on a different side, and had differnt parts/amounts of the aspen leaf stamp

    image

and our place cards were similar - different leaf stamps with different cardstock colors (bronze for fish and red for chicken - or vise versa, I can't remember...), all stood up on corks

  • My DIYs were a complete failure... thats what you get when an totally non-artistic bride thinks she can do it all!

The programs were just poorly printed pieces of paper:

    The menus were no better:

And I tried making table numbers -- they just turned out to be framed pictures I pilfered off a flower website:

  • I wasnt super happy with mine but some turned out just fine!

We DIY'd a lot since Mark and I are very picky.

    image

we made the cake stands out of plates and gold spray painted flower pots.  I also sewed the damask table squares. (still have no idea where the bride dragging the groom came from and we still have it) the venue thought it was ours.

I had two of these for seating cards.

  • My favorite DIY project was converting an old 1940s TV to a slide show, but we don't have any photos of that.

I liked my escort cards & holder

  • My DIY flower accessories. First is the wishing well card box passed down from my aunt to my cousin to me, then the flower baskets on the floor by the arch, the flower ball over the dance floor (DIY'd decorations on ceiling as well), and centerpieces.

Also had our own candy buffet. We met at a local grocery store and to start up conversations, he'd get candy from the penny candy bin and go through my check-out line. So we had a buffet of all the penny candy from the bins.

    image

I also did our programs (but they have our last name on it, and I'm too lazy right now to edit). And I DIY'd our escort card table (and the cards/invitations), with pictures of our parents/grandparents on their wedding days, but nobody got a picture of it. :(
