NYC Wardrobe help

How is everyone planning on dressing for our meals and outings? I imagine comfortably for Sat afternoon for travel and Central Park (jeans/ sneakers), but I'm not sure what the "norm" is for a Saturday evening or Sunday brunch. Temperatures are lows in upper 50s and highs in upper 60s (yay!) FYI.

Keeping in mind I'm trying to limit my overnight bag to a backpack Smile

Re: NYC Wardrobe help

  • I'm either going to wear a maxi dress or casual skirt depending on the temp unless its REALLY cool. Then I'll wear jeans and a cute top. I recommend comfy shoes and the ability to layer so a tank top and a sweater and light jacket (if you run cold). If you are on the sunny side of the street walking it can be warm.

There isn't much of a dress code at either restaurant so jeans and a cute top are totally fine. Thats pretty much the uniform of NYC lol.

  • I'm going to be pretty casual because the only thing I have that fit right now are my brand new maternity jeans. Yay. I don't know about tops yet, but I'll probably try to dress it up a little for Saturday night with a cute shirt.

I'm bringing a backpack, too, so I'm keeping it to things that won't get too wrinkled and don't take up too much space. I'm also cold-natured, so it'll be long sleeves probably.

  • It's supposed to be mid 60s to low 70s in NYC this weekend, and the city tends to be cooler because of the big buildings, so keep that in mind.

As for me - I have exactly 1 pair of jeans that still fit, so I will mostly likely be wearing those both Saturday and Sunday. I just have to figure out which tops to wear.

Too funny see I think its warmer then near my house in jersey because of the heat from the cars and trucks on the street! Though I run hot so take that with a grain of salt!

  • Yeah, I'm still wearing maternity clothes because I don't yet fit back into my regular stuff... so jeans, a tank and a sweater are pretty much my uniform too!  The bigger question is what Milo will wear... :)

  • Haha! Milo has to be cute :-)) Can't wait to see him!

    I am going casual also...

For Saturday travel, I have a pair of "chico's" travelers pants that travel wonderfully, a tank top and either a sweater or a jean jacket w/disney characters that my Mom gave me for Christmas last year (what???)...lol

I found a really cute black top to change into for Saturday evening, but will likely keep the same pants on barring a spill or something.

For Sunday, I will likely wear a pair of jeans, a cute t-shirt or top, and comfy shoes. I thought about wearing my jersey, but I'll see. I tend to try not to advertise that I'm an out of towner too much when traveling on my own. But maybe! Can't friggin wait :-))
