We've been pretty boring lately, so let's do a question ;-). Do you have any noticeable scars? How did you get them?
Re: QOTD
Luckily not from injuries, but I've had a few surgeries. I had my appendix removed when I was a kid, and I swear they used a hatchet back then. the scar is huge and ugly compared to modern appendectomies. Good thing no one sees my tummy. Also had knee surgery and bunion surgery that left lovely little numbers.
h ya. I have a one on my left fore arm. It is about 6'' long about 5'' wide. When I was 11 my cousin (who was more like a brother) and I were running to answer the door at my house. It was an old house so the front door was mostly glass. Well I was in front of him and he pushed me because he did want me to get to the door first, so to stop my self from falling I put my hands straight out and my hand broke the window. My arm when thru it up to my elbow. I ended up with about 12 stitches. My mom didn?t believe me when I called her at work to tell her she needed to come home I was hurt. It took a while to convince her. I even have scars where the stitches when in. My cousin and I lied about what happened. We said I tripped. Because we KNEW he would be in a world of trouble. Our parents didn?t know the truth till about 2 years ago.
But now anytime I get my blood pressure taken or someone sees it. I have to explain that I didn?t try to kill my self. Sometimes I feel judged for it, but it?s not something I can help so I have kind of lived with it.Well, my most obvious scar is a c-section one, but no one ever sees it
)
I also have a circular one on my knee from falling off my bike when I was younger, and one on my arm from hitting it against a really hot oven while getting a pan out when I used to work in a grocery store deli/bakery in high school.
Interesting question. I had to think about it a bit.
1. Small chunk missing from my left cheek from where a rooster pecked me when I was a toddler.
2. C-section scar.
3. Three small punctures from knee surgery.
4. Quarter sized scar on my knee from wiping out on a moped as a kid.
Yep, but nothing too major!
1. Small scar on forehead - When I was little, I fell down my Grandfather's basement steps.
2. Scar on my left elbow. The raft from a slip 'n slide cut me at daycare (I know, right??), so I had to have stitches.
3. Scar on my lower back - back surgery.
Depends on how closely you want to look at me!
I have a scar on my upper lip, just under my nose from a sugery I had when in preschool. I was born with a facial deformity - basically the skin was not grown together - but I don't know how to pronounce the issue so I can't spell it.
I also probably still have a scar from poison oak on my right shoulder. Fun camping trip!
Oh my gosh- my most embarrassing one is on my hand. I was going to the bathroom in public and had to reach up in the dispenser to get the toilet paper and cut myself BAD. The scar is really noticeable on the top of my hand. People ask about it a lot and I have to tell them that.....
I have another one on my face but it doesn't show up super well. My brother and I were wrestling when we were little kids. He threw me down on the carpet (which was getting ready to be replaced) and a carpet staple ripped my mouth open further than it should. I had to have stitches.
Okay, my sister must have been logged on to the Nest on my computer- this is nickschick!
