How casual or business professional is your workplace? Is there anything that is not appropriate for work but you wish you could wear?

    My office is very casual. I've been wearing a lot of jeans lately, but still make a conscious effort to look nice. Ex: Dark wash, straight leg jeans, heels, make up and hair done, not a tank top or t-shirt. Fridays however can be even more casual and I'll wear cute sandals and more casual shirts. If we have a seminar or a big client meeting I'll where pants or a dress. It just depends on the day and situation.

    Extremely casual since I work from home. I work in pajamas almost every day. During travel I saw that most people who work on site are a range from casual Friday to business casual every day. There are a lot of people in nice jeans and shirts. Those that deal with clients on a daily basis take it up a notch.

    On the days I'm in the office, I wear a cute shirt, jeans and flip flops usually.  I could get away with shorts if I wanted to.  The only time we have to dress up (business casual) is if our customer is in the office.

    I pretty much wear whatever I want to work.  I've become especially lazy about it during my pregnancy.  My wardrobe so far has consisted of shorts, tanks, flops or sundresses.  If I have a meeting, I'll dress more professionally.....but that's usually still casual unless I just feel like dressing up.  Our typical "uniform" is jeans and a logo polo with closed toed shoes.  98% of the time, I don't interact with people in person.  haha

    We're pretty dressed up. Most days I wear pants/pencil skirt, a cami/shell & a cardigan. We occasionally have jeans day on Fridays... but it's for charity & we have to pay $5.

    I wish we could wear jeans every Friday, but I also get how some people take that too casually.

    I'm so jealous of everyone's casual offices. Dress pants, tank/shell and cardigan for me 95% of the time. No jeans ever. I would be just as productive in jeans! I swear!

    When I did this job in the office, it was pretty formal, even when we got moved to the tiny back corner on the 4th floor where no patient ever saw us. I still had to wear pants/skirt/dress type outfits, with no denim. It was completely annoying. Nobody ever saw me, including my boss, on most days, except for the 30 seconds it took for me to walk to the bathroom. I'm not sure why sitting at a desk in heels and a skirt made me more professional, because it certainly made me more uncomfortable.

    We're business casual w/ casual Friday, Saturday & Sunday. If you work overnight 6pm-6am it's casual. This week we're having a casual week as a reward for exceeding our United Way goal. I'm wearing dark wash jeans, a cute black & blue cotton top and black heels today. Normally I wear slacks or a skirt with a dressy top or cardi or a dress.

    Skinny jeans and flip flops are a no-go any day of the week as are dress capris. I really wish I could wear dress capris in the summer and I'd wear flip flops ever single day if I could.

    We used to get away with murder by virtue of the fact that we work with clothing-ruining chemicals all day. Jeans and tshirt were the norm. We were a cloistered casual in a very laced-up campus. The rule was that if you needed to go to the cafeteria mainland, you needed to be dressed appropriately (business casual or better). This was constantly ignored, and eventually we lost denim. There was much sadness.

    We now have two options, and we can decide day-to-day which we want to wear -- scrubs, or business casual.  I love it because scrubs are great, but if I feel like wearing real clothes on days I'm not going to be benchwork-heavy or if I have somewhere to be right after work, I can. And then the other 90%, I'm in prison grey scrubs. :)

     Exactly this for me too.  Although they're giving us a FREE jeans day this Friday, which is extremely rare.  Yay!

    Pretty casual here.  Today I'm wearing khakis and a printed cotton top.  I could wear jeans if I wanted to.  If I had to meet with a student or had a departmental meeting with higher-ups, I'd probably try and dress a little more professional.

    Business casual for my dept, others can wear jeans and Tshirts. I'm jealous I can't dress down every day, but I have to present myself professionally for clients.

    Business casual-ish? I can wear jeans if I want. No t-shirts, although when I was in engineering even that wasn't always followed. Now that I'm in public affairs, people dress a lot nicer because the media are always in and out and they could end up giving interviews or whatnot. It's motivated me to step up my game. I typically wear jeans or slacks with a nice shirt/button down/sweater/etc and I'm trying to throw in a skirt or dress at least once a week. Maybe I will increase that number as well once I get more used to it and expand that portion of my closet.
