Personalized bath pillows - how would you do this?

I picked up some bath pillows at dollar tree and I was going to make personalized covers for them to include in spa themed gift baskets for xmas.

Initially I was going to embroider the covers but I wasn't sure how the thread would fare in the bath repeatedly...I also have a cutting machine so I could make the names out of vinyl, or I could applique them on some kind of water resistant/outdoor fabric.

Any ideas as to the pros and cons of these methods, or any alternate ideas, would be muchly appreciated!

  • I think embroidering the cover would work. What kind of fabric? I would use a towel, and that way you could get a few from one towel.
  • I don't have any ideas on how to embroider, I just wanted to let you know that those Dollar Tree Bath pillows will pop if they are actually used. I've tried them a couple times and usuall only get one, sometimes two uses out of them.

Hope you didn't learn that the hard way...OUCH!

  • Darn - there goes that idea!
