I am bad luck....lol. :-P (very long...)

Hey ladies! Hope everyone is well! I've been lurking....as usual! But just have to vent. Stick out tongue Sooo, it seems I have bad luck with getting all the crazies after me at work. Why me?! lol. I don't know if anyone remembers but about a year or so ago I had a girl threaten to beat me up several times because she liked to shoplift and I said something every time she came in our store, because of this. Well when I told my manager it was her or me....he banned her from the store. So she's not allowed on our property anymore.

Well, yesterday I was minding my own business....ya know, working. This guy (at first I had no idea who he was, after the fact....I put two and two together and I know his dad...but not him personally), walks up from behind me and grabs my a$$. I jump and then I hear him whisper, "I know my daddy's into you, but I can show you a better time..." (rubbing my back while he's whispering this...). Then he walks away and exits the store. This all happened in a matter of probably 10 seconds or so (him grabbing me and saying that to me). I was just in complete shock...couldn't move/speak....nothing.

I had three associate's actually see what happened....two were asking me what just happened and I was like...."I don't know....". The third person thought he was my boyfriend since he was all over me like that. I told my managers and the person that works in security and they all said I should file a report so he wouldn't think he could come in and do it again (I hate confrontations,etc.....but I agree, I don't want him thinking I'm okay with what he did). So an officer came and I told him everything that happened. They're going to serve him with a warrant (he has charges for assaulting women already on his record). I'll probably have to go to court.....so yeah. Why me? Sad

People ask me "why didn't you slap him, say something, scream." I replay it in my head over and over and I ask myself....why didn't you do something besides stand there? It freaked me out....big time....but I just froze. I wish I would've done something. One of my managers actually had the nerve to say, "maybe she liked it" to another associate while I was standing there. Seriously?! Ugh. I just wish it never happened. Sad Anyway.....thanks for letting me vent.

  • That sucks! I'm so sorry that happened to you :( I was sexually assaulted at work a year ago (I'm no longer there) by a manager. I spoke to the big boss, they gave me something to "document" it, and when I went to file charges at the police pct, they denied giving me the report. I'm happy yu have witnesses, and were able to make a complaint. Good luck in court. Just remember, he VIOLATED you. That should make you mad enough to say anything you need to in order to get his asss in trouble.
  • I'm sorry that happened to you. I can understand why you froze in shock. Sucks that you'll have to go to court and stuff, but hopefully it's a quick process and you can be done with it.

  • Wow.  That is horrible.  I am so sorry you went through that.  Don't let other people make you think you reacted wrong either.  People can say they would slap him, but you don't know how you will react till you are in that situation.  I am glad you are filling charges though.
  • Thanks everyone! I'm doing a little better....still going back and forth with "was it really bad enough to involve the cops?"....just feeling guilty. I know I shouldn't...I didn't ask him to grab me....didn't say a single thing to him. He was taken into custody Friday night and released Monday afternoon/evening. I guess I'll find out soon if I have to testify against him in court (someone said if he pleads guilty I won't have to, but if he pleads innocent, I will....not sure, though). I wanted to thank y'all for listening to me and giving advice/encouragement....it means a lot. But anyway....just wanted to update you in case you were wondering.
