If you had 4 bananas......

that were starting to get to the over-ripe status.....what would you do with them?

I know I could make banana bread, which I love, but for some reason I am just not feeling that right now. Or smoothies are an option...but I not really interested in that either. hah.Huh?

Any other ideas?

Re: If you had 4 bananas......

  • I just throw them in a ziplock in the freezer for when I do feel like making banana bread.  I can't really think of anything else... I have a really amazing banana muffin recipe that has a crumble top and I always put chocolate chips in the muffins :)  Or you could make the bread and then freeze it - great if you have company coming over last minute or as a housewarming present.
  • mmmm muffins.

that's why I love TN. Smile

  • I peel them and throw them in a ziploc if I don't feel like doing anything with them right then. Which is almost always the case.

ETA: and freeze them... baby brain is bad today!

  • I wonder if you could cut them up and dry them somehow to make banana chips? Just an idea... I have no idea how or what you would need to do that
  • Same here I would freeze and use it in a smoothy. Pancakes is a good idea too.

  • I love making banana pancakes out of them. I know you can put them in soups too if you're not looking for a bread type thing. You could also cook them up and make a sweet sauce to put over ice cream too! Mmm....bananas foster...Big Smile
  • I'm on Team Smoothie. Way cooler than Team Bread.

  • We put ours in cereal in the mornings. Or put them into a smoothie. :)

  • Thanks everyone!!! All wonderful ideas.

I actually had 5 bananas. So I froze two of them and then used the other 3 to make these muffins.  I figured 5 stars after 483 reviews sounded pretty good to me.

They will be done cooking in 8 minutes. I'll let you know if the recipe pulls through! Big Smile

  • Ive seen this recipe on pinterest going around where you freeze a couple bananas then take them out and blend them with a little cocoa powder and peanut butter. The ending product is supposed to be ice cream consistency but healthier?
