I came across this website & I thought it sounded like a great idea - costumes are used so briefly, it makes sense to find one used. I don't see any organized swaps here in town but maybe we could just do one casual-style with the Nest? Either actually gathering them all in one place, and have the swap all at once, or by posting on here a la the "garage sale" posts we have from time to time?
What do you think?

Re: Costume swap?
I don't have a swap, as my mom is making a new costume this year, but I am selling this lobster costume. $20 Andrew looked awesome in it, especially after we stuffed him into kms's stock pot.
Email only, please: valentine014 at gmail
This is a great idea!
I was actually going to post that ON costumes are 25% off right now, and they have a 30% off any item coupon on FB. I was able to use it, and got A's costume for $12! I think they go down to 50% off usually right around Halloween, but I know that their selection is down at that point, and I wanted to guarantee that I was able to get what I wanted! $12 sounded like a pretty good deal to me since I've seen them at consignment sales for $8-$10!
I have an awesome Buzz Lightyear costume, fits a 4T to 5T child, with wings and shoe covers and head cover.
I bought it at a consignment sale last year and it still looks brand new. So I'm going to pass it on for free if anyone is interested.
I'm looking for a Batman (5Tish) and Robin (3T) if anyone happens to have them lying around
thanks to jennied
OH! Colin wants to be Buzz! Do you think it would be too big for him? He's wearing 2T --- 30 lbs and 34-1/2" tall. We saw the costume somewhere but I'd rather not buy it new if I didn't have to.
I have a 0-3 month Scarecrow, 6-9 mo penguin, 6-9 mo bat, 12-18 mo turtle (missing the hat but it has the cutest shell on the back). I'd be ok with just lending them out for the holiday if it means someone doesn't have to buy a costume
I have pics of C in the scarecrow and turtle outfits. The other two were gifts that have never been used --- I think they even still have tags on them.
Married the love of my life 6/3/06
Became a family of three 8/25/09
I need the 0-3 month Scarecrow costume!!!!! PM me for pricing. Elsie's going as a scarecrow and we have scarecrow costumes too- how cute would it be if we all dressed up as them?!?!?
My rather large 4yr old wore it last year, but it's just basically a jumpsuit. I'll try it on my 2 yr old that has about the same measurements as yours and see if it will work. I'll get back to you......(I'm at work right now, I'll make the boys play dress up tonight! fun
thanks to jennied
Good idea! I am looking for a pirate costume for Blake- he looks Jake and the Neverland Pirates right now and wants to be a pirate with a sword! probably need a 4T for size
Thanks for the heads-up...just saw that they have a pirate costume I may have to grab!
I was just going to post this same exact thing! Mine is from the Disney store and still has the tags on it! My sister got it for the boys when they were going through the toy story obsession, but the were already too big for it.
I posted pics in my "ISO" post from last week, but we have a:
12-24 mo. (I believe; Jack wore it just after turning one) Lion
2T Cow
Both in great condition and are super cute.
I only have a Woody costume from last year, fit my (giant) 5 yr old, he probably weighed about 42 lbs. I'm not sure how tall he is exactly (bad Mom) but he is very tall for his age - it would fit any 5 yr old & I would suspect most 6 yr olds. The costume includes the jumpsuit & hat, the boots are a friend's & the bandana is ours.
Free to anyone that wants it & will come pick it up.
(strange photo b/c I cropped out my friend's kids since I doubt she wants them all over the interwebz.)
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
DD says her little sister needs to be a pumpkin. Could you email me a pic? cmcdonald624 @ gmail.com?
I have a 24mth Ladybug. I will look for a pic and post in a bit. Edit: duh... its in my profile pic. I don't know if I have a decent full shot but I might on my phone. If anyone is interested email me your number and I can text it to you.
Woman, are you still wanting the dino???
How much do you want for this?
I specifically remember emailing you back, but of course, it doesn't seem to be in my sent folder.
Anywho, it said: He continues to change his mind on what he wants to do be (dog, train and elephant have been the latest), so I'm just going to wait until closer to Halloween.
Thank you, though, and I'm really sorry that, obviously, did not get sent!
Oh ok!
Holy crap that is amazing. I am thinking of sending my kids as junk food. What color is this Peep? I may have to take you up on it. Do you have a pic?
We want Shaun the Sheep costumes. We want the real deal for Owen but could do just a little sheep costume for Amelie and, umm...., me and Kelly.
