Sorry to bug you, but I had a question.  Are food allergy rashes generally all over?  Or is it common for them to appear in only a small area?

B has what our ped thought was a yeast diaper rash, however after 14 days of nystatin, it is still there.  It is really pale, almost none existent some days and bright red on others.  I know you obviously can't diagnose, but I've been thinking about it and the days it is paler are the days he hasn't gotten rice cereal.  I know "they" say nobody is allergic to rice, but who knows.

Thank you for any advice you can give. I plan to call the ped tomorrow and go back there.

Re: ***LoveofJoe***

  • If it's only in the diaper area even when he eats rice cereal, I'd think it was more a rash to diaper than an allergic reaction.  If it's fading, it sounds like it's getting better.  Keep using desitin/triple paste, etc and frequent changes and hopefully it'll continue to get better.
