Skinny Jeans

I really want to get a pair of skinny jeans to wear with boots but I am not sure if I can. My thighs have become thicker since being pregnant and I am not sure if they are to thick for skinny jeans.

How heavy is to heavy for skinny jeans? When I stand my thighs tend to touch, is this to heavy or am I just being way to self conscious?

Also can someone recommend a brand that they like and feel good in?

Re: Skinny Jeans

  • oh girl, if thigh touching was a sign of "too heavy" then many of us would be screwed!!!

I love my Gap 1969 skinny jeans.  They are skinny, but not super tight-painted on look.

  • Old Navy Sweetheart cut Skinny Jeans.

I'm in the same boat (ETA:) with not only the thighs, but also the hips and the butt, and I tried these on the other day and I was amazed.

  • Psssssh. If I can wear 'em, so can you.
  • Skinny jeans are for any size! I especially love them for fall with a longer top and tucked into tall boots!

My favorites are from American Eagle.

  • I'm an extreme pear shape and my thighs definitely touch, but I still wear skinny jeans. I think it's all about what you wear them with. On me, they wouldn't look good with a short and fitted top, but with a longer tunic or layers on top they look fine.

I highly recommend jeggings for under boots, too. They don't bunch at the knees, like even the skinniest jeans sometimes will.

YES!  Esp. Old Navy's Rock Star jeggings -- they actually clasp like real jeans, and have pockets to boot, and are tres comfy!

  • If the rule was "You can only wear skinny jeans if your thighs don't touch,"  I would be a major offender.

I personally think they can work for anyone.  It's all about what you wear on top. I like to wear tops that go just below my hips when I wear them.

My favorite pair are from Express.

  • As long as you feel comfortable in them, buy them! I don't think there's such thing as "too heavy" for skinny jeans.

I only own one pair - they're from JCPenney, not sure on the brand though. They aren't painted on which I like, the ankles are a little more loose.
