Confession: I want to have Scott Thompson's babies. I freaking lurve Kids in the Hall and have since I was 12.
Your turn.
I'm hitting the hay and this post better have a lot of replies when I get back.
Re: Let's talk Canadian TV
One for the road:
Does anybody remember Kid Street? I've never found anybody who does and it drives me nuts. It was a kids trivia game show where they sat in realistic looking cars, and for some reason clapped with their hands above their heads.
::waits for someone to talk about a show she's seen::
I've never heard of Kid Street, and again, Kids in the Hall was before my time. I fail.
Did anyone ever watch 18 to Life?
It was a show about two 18 year olds who ran off and got married and how they thought they were so adult but ended up having to live with their parents because they couldn't afford life together alone. It was hilarious because their families were so different. It was a funny show.
ME TOO! I have a friend who got a really bad haircut once and we called her Busy for years.
Yeah, when I was 15 I thought I was destined to move to Toronto and marry Bruce McCulloch.
I too remember Kids Street. I also used to love Fred Penner, the Friendly Giant, and Breaker High (with the young Ryan Gosling).
Do you remember the Log Driver's Waltz that used to come on to fill time?
Umm YES!

Enjoy.
I also loved Breaker High...perhaps inspired my IN lifestyle!! Was it Canadian?
Yes, it was Canadian created, although I do think it was aired in the states too. I also remember that it was filmed in BC (one of my friends had auditioned but was too short!).
Breaker High definitely crossed my mind when I left home to work on Cruise Ships
I LOVED Breaker High and Ready or Not. Like, a lot.
Anyone remember Jonovision? That show was terrible.
Student Bodies. Was that Canadian? I watched/loved it too and it had one of the kids from Are You Afraid of the Dark on it (I was not allowed to watch AYAofD).
Rick. Mercer.
I loved the Degrassi shows! Also a fan of You Can't Do that on TV.
I had totally forgotten about Ready or Not, but I watched that too.
Going back to a younger age, Polka Dot Door was one of my favs. I didn't realize it was Canadian until I mentioned it to my DH at some point and he had no idea what I was talking about!
And in recent times, I love that Republic of Doyle is aired in the UK! It's so much fun to watch a show filmed in my hometown.

I watched most of those shows. Loved Polka Dot Door, my Dad made me a toy box exactly like the one on the show. I also loved Mr. Dressup.
I had a friend in high school who played in a few Are you afraid of the dark.
I actually find that most kids shows I watch now with M are made in Canada.
Kids in the hall = amazing! I do the head crusher on a regular basis.
I tell everybody that Mr. Dressup > Mr. Rogers, but nobody knows who Mr. Dressup is!
Oh, old skool Canadian TV, you are so awesome.
I am so happy to finally find someone who knows Kid Street! Finally!
Hahaha, that's awesome! I remember him crawling through that big log.
And now he's crawling up the stands with a drink in his hand trying to get to his seat. My how things have changed. I also see him at the liquor store quite often... not that I go there that often.. but yah.
I never watched it but it was on all the time and so unfunny/annoying: Red Green
Ugh!
oK so I'm totally late to the game here, but I actually have a friend who was on Kids Street with her sister! We used to watch it every morning before school.
Also, does anyone remember Today's Special? That was a fun show!
I too LOVED Mr Dress-up and Polka Dot Door.
That was a great show! Now I have the theme in my head!
