Re: AW Thursday
I FINALLY got all of our mail sorted and filed away this week. DH is getting out of control with his piles of mail and it in no way motivates me to clean. Since he's out of town, I decided to tackle it. I feel so much better now that our dining room table is a table to eat at again, not a table to pile stuff on....
We really need a better system...

I sort of mentioned this in another post, but when DH & I are in NYC, we are staying at what is supposed to be a really nice 4* hotel and I got it much cheaper by bidding on Priceline. Still spendy because it's NYC, but about 30% off rack rate. Yay!
We also finally started some landscaping around our houes. Took us long enough.
It sounds like you get a ton of mail! We don't get as much as we used to with most of our bill paying being online. We get the standard junk mail and that goes straight into the recycle bin if I check the mail. I hate when my DH leaves it in piles on the counter.
It had really piled up over the last few months. But DH used to own his own business, so we had a ton of business related mail. It's all stuff that we have to keep for tax purposes. Plus, we just bought a house a few months ago, so we've got some house related mail that needed to be filed as well. I've started trashing junk mail before DH even gets home, but he gets so many magazines and catalogs, they just seem to pile up...

Only 2 more sleeps until Florida...sorry I'm quoting my little niece.
We bought our first items for our new house! We move in next week and we have a lot of house to fill. We are going from a small living area to a home with the formal livingroom and separate family room. We are using our current setup for the family room where we'll be spending most of our time. We wanted something nice for the front livingroom where the big picture window and fireplace are.
We bought the sofa and the floral accent chair to start. We still need a second chair, area rug, coffee table and end table but at least it's a start!
Love the furniture!
My DH does the same thing! I've started opening his mail for him just so i don't have to look at it sitting there for a week!
My AW is that we're finally sorting through all the extra crap we have laying around and getting rid of it (via garage sale this weekend). I can't wait to be free of it!
I love it too!! Furniture shopping is so much fun. Too bad it is so pricey, or I would do it more often, lol.
I would love to have a garage sale at my house... maybe that will be a goal for next spring. Let us know how it goes this weekend.
Congrats Christine - I love getting new furniture! Will you get it right away when you move in or do you have to wait a bit?
My aw's... I start weekly doc appt's tomorrow! My parents were able to get us UofM tickets for both the San Diego State and Minnesota games! And, my department did a reorg and I'm very happy with where I got put. It may, however, mean that I'll be less likely to be approved to go down to 32 hrs/week after I get back from maternity leave, but I still think it's better than the alternative.
My system is a big box that I just throw things in.. I have been meaning to start sorting it but I have yet to do it. We need a system too!
Thanks! We are having it delivered next Sunday and we are moving our current furniture over the day before so pretty much right away.
Our crib and baby dresser have finally arrived - we just have to go pick them up. I'm so dang excited about this because we ordered ages ago and have had the run around ever since. We also have our last shower this Sunday and I'm just SO ready to have a handle on all of this stuff. I feel like we've been in limbo waiting for the furniture and the last of our shower gifts.
Not that exciting is it....:)
Me too!

It's very exciting! It will feel so good to get everything put away and to be able to go out and buy the rest of the stuff you need.
That's great! I know how this goes, DH's aunt beats me every.single.game. I'm waiting for the day to say I beat her!
Welcome to the board & Happy Birthday! Sept. b-day's are the best (mine is next Tues.)
Thank you! September b-days are the best for sure! Happy early birthday to you!!
DH came home last, so I can go to the GTG tonight & my Mom's Night Out right after.
But my big one is tomorrow I leave for my Women's Retreat, I CAN'T wait!!! (Esp. as I type this Kaitlyn is having a meltdown because I said she couldn't watch a movie right now). It's suppose to be sunny, low/mid 60's right along Portage Lake. I'm driving up w/a gal from church (it's a church denomination retreat) so I'm looking forward to getting to know her a little better (she has a Kaitlyn that is 2 yrs older than mine). If I don't return or come back typing from Northern MI you'll know why!
Oooh!! I really like it Christine. Nice choice. Looks super comfy.
Lots of fun AW's this week.
Don't really have anything major this week - other than DH bought me a new canning recipe book - and I have been a canning machine trying all the new recipes! I'm so excited about my slowly growing stash!
Oh! And we are starting to move this weekend! And we are going apple picking Saturday!
Ok - so maybe I had more to be an AW about than I thought
lol that's my system too!
I don't have any good AWs today just excited for the GTG. It will be nice to get out without the LO.
Our inspection went well and now we're waiting for the appraisal.
I'm going back to Buffalo tomorrow for the weekend, BY.MY.SELF! No kids, no husband. I was really looking forward to it (still am, but my enthusiasm has changed). I'm going to go stay with my bff and have girls weekend. It's her sisters bachelorette party on Saturday- Spa Day! I'm getting a mani/pedi. We were supposed to be going out to an awesome bar for dinner and drinks- that part is canceled. I was really looking forward to some chocolate martinis and having a fun night OUT.
This is my first weekend with no counterparts in a year. MUCH NEEDED weekend away.
Getting back to it- my diet and exercise blog
