What did you think? Do you think he should have won? I was really bothered with how much time they spent talking to Iluminate after they announced that they lost. I didn't care to hear all that and thought that it was such a time waster. If they don't have anything good to put on, then make the show shorter.
I am happy that he won. I think he will fit in perfectly in Vegas. I kept thinking that if Silhouttes won, then all those children would have to be pulled out of school, their families would all have to move and disrupt their lives in order to go to Vegas. I didn't like that.

Re: AGT finale- spolier
I liked the Silhouettes BUT they are all children...they had a great experience but need ot be children and go to school and have normal lives.
Landau has worked hard his whole life and can truly appreciate the amazing opportunity he has been given...as a musician myself, I always feel the people that have struggled should win over children. *cough* jackie evancho *cough* who should not be singing a song she doesn't understand written for an adult male. haha
I can't really say anything because I refuse to vote for these things, but I'm annoyed that it seems like America always votes for a singer to win. That's what American Idol and The Voice are for. This is about a variety of talents. Not just singing.
That said, I really wanted the silhouttes to win.
This. Fighting Gravity came in 3rd last year, as did iLuminate this year. I think these types of groups are very Vegas acts. And while people assume they will get their own headlining show, it's not always that easy.
Landau is very good, don't get me wrong, and he will be loved by all of the old folks in Vegas. So, in that respect, he probably is perfect for Vegas. I just don't think he was the *best* act (by way of creativity and talent).
As for Jackie Evancho - she's from my area and, from what I have read, her parents were very happy she didn't win last year b/c she wouldn't have the chance to be a kid. While she has come out with 2 albums since being on the show (a Christmas album and her new one), it is ridiculous how talented she really is - she knows the meaning of the songs she sings; she wouldn't be able to be so passionate about them if she didn't. (And I could turn around and say the same thing about these teenaged pop and rap singers singing about love, hate and angst, that people seem to love - like THEY know what that is to sing about that?!)
My three sons!

this article best describes my feelings towards Jackie Evancho...and that is mainly because of my career as an opera singer and this is a great article if you are interested...just sharing my opinion:)
I also do not care what your voice sounds like if you sing something you care about...she has no idea what she is singing, she most likely does not even know the translations...The song she sang last night has the translation on this article...fyi
As a music teacher myself, I prefer the way my students sing over her. Her voice is not naturally what a 11 year old sounds like. She says she has training but no good quality voice teacher would take a student that young. Their voices are have not matured at 11 that's why we wait until they are. They are making her sound older with techniques not natural to her age and will ruin her voice. Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way!
