Just a little vent...
Parking at work is getting out of control! I was here at 7:45 and it took me 25 minutes just to find a parking spot, and over 30 minutes to actually park and get into the office! I drove through 5 parking lots (including three full parking structures)! I'm so frustrated! And they are giving up almost 500 staff parking spots to patients in the next few months, so it's just going to get worse! This is getting ridiculous!

I came in and vented a bit to my manager, who laughed and said I was the second person to bring it up this morning... Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it...
So, I'm just going to sit here and drink my coffee, because coffee makes everything just a little bit better

They actually do! But those lots are free parking lots. Why in the world am I paying as much as I am to park close if I can't even do that.... it's annoying!
There is a lot of construction going on and because of it they decided they wanted to completely redo the patient parking structure (which I completely understand, it needs to be done). But the solution was to just take staff parking, when they know it's really tough to find parking as is... I just hope that they can get the structure redone quickly. (But that's pretty unlikely at this point)

UGH! You must have Blue parking! My coworker does too and she came in this morning complaining that she couldn't find a spot either!
I don't have Blue for two reasons, one is that I'm too cheap to pay that much and the other is having to fight for a spot! I park in Orange and walk in most days but will occasionally catch the bus if the weather is really bad.
Unfortunately I don't think parking is ever going to get better around here and they're just going to continue to try to get people to park far and commute by bus!
Yup! I have Blue parking... And I wont get rid of it for a few reasons. First of all, I am now traveling between two offices and I will always have a parking spot (blue parking) at one of them, the other place is where I have issues. Secondly, I come into town a lot on the weekends and evenings and it is amazing to have easy parking downtown. I definitely get my moneys worth.
The worst part is, our office has a huge parking lot, that should have enough room for the majority of the people in our building, BUT because they are closing down some of the parking for staff, the hospital staff is taking over our parking lot! Since they are on shift work and get there by 7:30 or so, they quite literally take over. Now when people in our building come in (usually between 7:30-9:30) there are no parking spots left. It's out of control I tell you!

That really sucks! I hope things get easier soon.
I remember back when I was going to school at Wayne State, I drove down for the first day of classes and could not find a parking spot any where. It was around 8 in the morning. I got pissed off and drove back home. Lol.
Ditto!! How terrible to have to deal with that in the mornings!
I would absolutely be asking for at least a partial refund of your parking costs then. That's pretty dumb.
