Does this make me a bad person?
A's niece's husband is in the Army. He's been deployed since the beginning of the year and should be back fairly soon. They both have been posting on her FB "XX days left" and similar things. Then it turns out that he should be back sooner than they had expected, and she put that too.
She knows about OPSEC. We talked about it a few times (along with other military related things) around the time he talked to a recruiter and again after he enlisted.
So is it bad that part of me hopes they're held back a little bit?
Re: Does this make me a bad person?
I have hoped that H's ship would delay homecomings before because people are so dumb with posting things on FB. Don't get me wrong, I of course want to see my husband ASAP, but until something happens where people see repercussions from breaking OPSEC, then they won't learn. You can threaten them until you're blue in the face, but unless a command takes action they know they are empty threats.
