MH's band's debut
Chris has been in a band for over 3 years playing guitar, but until recently they didn't have a singer, so they never played shows. They finally found a good fit, and they played their first show at the Big Easy in Portland last night, a Cover to Cover, where they played a set of their original music and then Radiohead's KidA from start to finish. We were expecting 50 people, and 160 people showed up. Their original set was fantastic. People were cheering and screaming and dancing. And then their Radiohead cover was amazing. People were skeptical that it could be done well, because it was a very ambitious and challenging choice, but people loved it. It sounded so good. Just since last night they've been contacted by Bates and Bowdoin, guy from the Rustic Overtones that sets up Clash of the Titans for the State Theater, the Portland band Grand Hotel, and a couple other people about setting up shows. They've worked so hard, and it made all the nights he was practicing worth it. He's wanted this for so long, and I'm just so proud of them! I had to gush, I'm all tingly inside about it

OMG-- my friend went to see that show and raved about the bands! She also met one of the Rustic Overtones guys (that was one of the reasons she was at the Radiohead cover gig) who also was raving about the bands there!
I would love to see YH's band! Absolutely! (Not only would it be good music and fun, but you'd have other people around to brag about YH to and we'd help!)

At some point they will probably be doing that Clash of the Titans thing as Radiohead (that's what the Rustic Overtones guy was calling about). I'll keep you posted.
I honestly don't know where they do that anymore...I thought it was the State Theater, he thought it was Port City, but it looks like it's been at Empire also. Looks like it moves around!
